Look at the welcome most newbies get here. Most get a warm welcome. As long as they don't spam, post casting calls in inappropriate locations, or cop shitty attitude, that is.

Why are you being so combative over such a minor slight?

Good to know!!! I'm a newbie and actually even finding this forum to read was step 1 in my small progress of learning MM. Watching out for bunnies now!

Also known as forum junkies. Bunnies are lovable creatures who hop from one forum to the other. They post playful, and often meaningless, posts. They post all the time, and they multiply. Bunnies are mostly harmless, but in large number, they can still easily overrun any newbie.

That is the cutest thing....ever >< :Hops:

Hi! I'm new to mm and I already have like five new friend requests??? Is this normal? Why are random people adding me?

@ArnoldK

Random people just add you either because they may want to work with you in the future or else they just want more friends etc. lol

It's pretty much the same as any social network, you get random adds from strangers!

Welcome to MM though!

If you ever going to get better your going to need criticism. Lots of criticism. This may be the only type of feedback your going to get, so make the best of it, love it, embrace it. I've been in several photography clubs and one of the first things you do is have your work critiqued. I've seen newbies show up and after having one image critiqued never show up again. It's hard to not take it personal but one must try to see it from their view and guess what, maybe there was some things you could try to create a better image. Maybe there's lots of things you can do to make it a better image. Granted there are some trolls about looking for an excuse to knock you down. Never, never, never get into an argument over someone's opinion of your work. On another thought, the people that are producing the highest quality work are the ones that are receiving the most praise and the least criticism. When you get there your feelings will be less hurt but your learning curve may start to flatten out. Criticism is the best tool you will ever have for honing your craft and you will need to utilize it if you want to grow.

As a newbie, this post is fantastic. Networking is critical for every type of talent but with that, you have to know and understand the surrounding you are in before you go running naked into the crowd.
