Any Los Angeles Photographers know of a good co-op studio in Los Angeles. Looking to rent a place to shoot 2 to 3 days a week. Or are any photographers interested in getting together to start one?

Hi Robert. I wish I had the money to move or I would. I do know a photographer in the West Valley (Chatsworth) that is looking to share his space, but that's not quite in the heart of L.A. He's been trying to get me to move in, but I have a major client ten steps across the courtyard from me, that would love me to stay where I am. :-)

I'd love to.  Give me a couple of months to figure out where my finances are at, or keep me in mind if someone else is interested.

Hey bud,

My name is Rowan and I am a photographer in Venice Beach.  I've been a professional photographer for the last few years and currently manage a studio for an agency that represents photographers (www.7artistmanagement.com).  I have a Co-Op here at the studio and have two open slots that I would like to fill with some photographers with a cool, creative and down-to-earth vibe.  I'd love to have you come by the studio, check it out and see if you may be interested in working in an environment with other career minded photographers.

Email me and let's chat about it:  Rowan@7artistmanagement.com

Hey Brooks,
I'm not sure if I could swing it right now, but I would like to know what your Chatsworth friend has to offer.

Whoh! So confused for a second when I saw my own reply... 2007? No wonder my reply was funny to me.

I'm now IN that same studio that my friend wanted me to move into and I could use a couple part time renters myself.

I have a studio in downtown LA that I rent out by the day. I can accommodate one photographer to shoot in the space up to twice per week for $500/month, if you're looking for a monthly deal.
Our studio offers approx 1,300 sq ft of shooting space, 14 ft ceilings, and beautiful natural light. There is a lounge area which is separate from the main studio, two bathrooms, and a kitchen.
There are duvetyne curtains for blackout, air conditioning, seamless backdrops, lights (Arri 650 & 150, Lowell 750 soft box), a wardrobe rack, and wireless internet for use.
Also, there is a freight elevator in the building.
There is parking for 2-3 cars in the gated parking lot, and plenty of unrestricted street parking.
Also, I will be on hand to help out, at no additional charge. I have extensive on-set experience - I've done lighting and camera-op for videos in which we traveled to Africa, Nepal, and Bangladesh, as well as for many photo shoots and music videos. I also have extensive art dept experience. Since I normally work for at least $250/day, you would be getting a steal with having both the studio rental and my help for the rates that we offer, but honestly, I would rather stay in the studio than be running across down for different gigs.
We charge $250/day or $150/4 hours for still photo shoots. Film and video shoots vary depending on the size.
You can see more of the studio here: http://www.facebook.com/LiveCultureStudio
