Depends, if it's the cute pin-up then it's fine and cute and fun.

If it's the sexy pinup then no.

Have to see pictures.

Meh.

They use 16 y/o's in fashion modelling to sell sex all the time.

lol I no, I made that edit after I got about 3 of them. I was hoping people could see that I never mentioned it being wrong or right and figured that they would just give me their personal opinion. I dont really have an opinion on it just yet.

I think "pin-up" stuff is fine, I am personally very liberal when it comes to the awarness of sex and teenagers, and if my daughter came to me and wanted something sexy and glamourous I wouldn't have a problem with it, as long as it wasn't any kind of topless or full nudity.

I always fell kind of uncomfortable looking at a sexy picture of an underage girl.

Bleh. I hate pinup. If the idea was cool and I liked the photographers work then I would let her do it.

If my teenage daughter wanted to shoot pin-up, I'd think it was ok. If she wanted to shoot modern day glamour, I'd be a little weary since glamour usually means less clothing and it's far more overtly sexual.

I think a 16 year old doing a pin-up style shoot, it's fine. But to do a true pin-up shoot I think it would be too sexually implied for my taste.

Well ive been doing pinup since i was 16 and really it all depends on cheesecake pinup or lingerie/fetish as long as it's tasteful. . .and there's always an escort to watch out for your best interest ; )

Taylee, your work is beautiful.  That being said, if you were my kid, I would absolutely not allow you shoot about 1/3 of it just becase of the going-beyond-flirty side to it, and I certainly wouldn't be the photographer shooting it.  LOL

Cheesecake?  Maybe - the one of you in the pencil skirt, in the corner of the boxing ring is an example of something I'd shoot or allow my oldest (she's 15) to model for.

Lingerie/fetish?  Not just no.  Hell no.

I have a 14yr old girl.  The answer would probably be yes depending on exactly the context and content of the shoot.

I think a retro looking polka dot dress might be cute.  The garter belt and stockings thing not so much.

I did pin-up modeling as a minor.  My mother accompanied me at shoots, and everything turned out fine.  I didn't do lingerie, but I wore swimsuits that showed just as much skin.  No big deal...

I would answer that while it's not normal, it's not abnormal. big_smile

And for any future daughters, I'd rather they did not.

Then again, what are you defining as pin-up?  Cause I'm invisioning a certain style that many call pin-up that I think would be fine.

Really???  I'm actually kinda surprised.  I've always felt my work was very tasteful.  As a matter of fact I'm probably one of the few models that has absolutely no bathing suit shots or lingerie pics..not that there's anything wrong w/ them I'm just not allowed to do those shoots.  But, to be fair the pics you are viewing in my port are not the pics I took when I was 16, They're my more recent one's. I turn 18 next month.  Perhaps that's why my expressions are a bit more flirtaceous. .. ironically, I come from a very strict household where all my pics are appoved by both of my parents who do not even allow me to date yet, but,  have always been supportive of my dreams.

I think yours is great btw....

16 for pin-up yes but it all depends on the photos and the photographer. If the shots come out to sexy then no. If the model was really understanding the business then it wouldnt be a problem at all. My daughter just started doing pin-up (she is 18) but I can honestly say even at 16 she would not have wanted to appear that sexy....a conservative cute, creative pin-up yes...great, fabulous but that would be it.

so yes and no because it all depends on a lot of factors and what the intent is from model and or photographer...

Wait, teenagers dressing like prostitutes and/or just plain sexy in order to sell a product?  Does this really happen?  Seems unlikely...

It definately happens. Some are as young as 13. I guess because it happens so often people mark it off as ok.

Pin ups are usually tasteful. I did them when I was 16... why wouldn't they be appropriate?

+1

There is nothing in your port I'd have any issues with my own daughter doing.

And for the person who said its "legal grey area", you need to buy a pin up book, there are several good ones.  Look through that for a bit before posting.  There are many many very G rated pinups.  Granted its not the ones most people think of when you say "pinup" but they do exist.

None of those strike me as anywhere close to "grey area" illegal.
