16 year olds doing Pin-up work
Is this normal? eta: Would you let your daughter do it? Try to answer with at least a yes or no, not another question lol. Mar 29 09 06:28 pm Link Why wouldn't it be? Mar 29 09 06:29 pm Link Who knows?!?! There's no telling what's normal anymore nowadays! Mar 29 09 06:29 pm Link More so than nudes, yeah? Mar 29 09 06:29 pm Link my thoughts exactly, fifi. Mar 29 09 06:29 pm Link what is wrong w/16yr old doing pin up? Mar 29 09 06:32 pm Link Missoni Retouching wrote: Depends, if it's the cute pin-up then it's fine and cute and fun. Mar 29 09 06:33 pm Link Been going on since forever. Nothing new. Mar 29 09 06:33 pm Link depends on the final product Mar 29 09 06:34 pm Link Missoni Retouching wrote: LOl.. answer with another question? who would do such a thing? do you think people will answer your question with another question? Mar 29 09 06:43 pm Link Andrew Thomas Designs wrote: Meh. Mar 29 09 06:49 pm Link TheEighthSin wrote: lol I no, I made that edit after I got about 3 of them. I was hoping people could see that I never mentioned it being wrong or right and figured that they would just give me their personal opinion. I dont really have an opinion on it just yet. Mar 29 09 06:49 pm Link I think "pin-up" stuff is fine, I am personally very liberal when it comes to the awarness of sex and teenagers, and if my daughter came to me and wanted something sexy and glamourous I wouldn't have a problem with it, as long as it wasn't any kind of topless or full nudity. Mar 29 09 06:52 pm Link I always fell kind of uncomfortable looking at a sexy picture of an underage girl. Mar 29 09 06:54 pm Link Mizz Roxy wrote: Mizz Roxy, you are now #1 on my list...of models that I have to work with tomorrow... Mar 29 09 06:55 pm Link Missoni Retouching wrote: Bleh. I hate pinup. If the idea was cool and I liked the photographers work then I would let her do it. Mar 29 09 06:55 pm Link If my teenage daughter wanted to shoot pin-up, I'd think it was ok. If she wanted to shoot modern day glamour, I'd be a little weary since glamour usually means less clothing and it's far more overtly sexual. Mar 29 09 06:58 pm Link I think a 16 year old doing a pin-up style shoot, it's fine. But to do a true pin-up shoot I think it would be too sexually implied for my taste. Mar 29 09 07:01 pm Link All 3 of mine are under 18....absolutely not. Mar 29 09 07:01 pm Link Well ive been doing pinup since i was 16 and really it all depends on cheesecake pinup or lingerie/fetish as long as it's tasteful. . .and there's always an escort to watch out for your best interest ; ) Mar 29 09 07:01 pm Link taylee belle wrote: Taylee, your work is beautiful. That being said, if you were my kid, I would absolutely not allow you shoot about 1/3 of it just becase of the going-beyond-flirty side to it, and I certainly wouldn't be the photographer shooting it. LOL Mar 29 09 07:05 pm Link No Mar 29 09 07:06 pm Link Fotosbymike wrote: Brooke Shields/Pretty Baby. Pretty much. Mar 29 09 07:06 pm Link GregBrown wrote: Seriously, most models nowadays are underage... and people don't even realize it. Mar 29 09 07:08 pm Link I have a 14yr old girl. The answer would probably be yes depending on exactly the context and content of the shoot. Mar 29 09 07:10 pm Link I think a retro looking polka dot dress might be cute. The garter belt and stockings thing not so much. Mar 29 09 07:12 pm Link MC was 15, Vanity Fair ring any bells Mar 29 09 07:13 pm Link Mizz Roxy wrote: Me personally. I have no desire to spend time in a jail house. Mar 29 09 07:15 pm Link I did pin-up modeling as a minor. My mother accompanied me at shoots, and everything turned out fine. I didn't do lingerie, but I wore swimsuits that showed just as much skin. No big deal... Mar 29 09 07:15 pm Link Missoni Retouching wrote: I would answer that while it's not normal, it's not abnormal. Mar 29 09 07:16 pm Link Groundwerks Productions wrote: Really??? I'm actually kinda surprised. I've always felt my work was very tasteful. As a matter of fact I'm probably one of the few models that has absolutely no bathing suit shots or lingerie pics..not that there's anything wrong w/ them I'm just not allowed to do those shoots. But, to be fair the pics you are viewing in my port are not the pics I took when I was 16, They're my more recent one's. I turn 18 next month. Perhaps that's why my expressions are a bit more flirtaceous. .. ironically, I come from a very strict household where all my pics are appoved by both of my parents who do not even allow me to date yet, but, have always been supportive of my dreams. Mar 29 09 07:19 pm Link it's in the legal gray area... i'd vote no. Mar 29 09 07:25 pm Link taylee belle wrote: I think yours is great btw.... Mar 29 09 07:25 pm Link absolutely not! def not in a sexy way. unless its a really fun "dress up" playing imitation. and i am not an old person with outdated views on life, im 23. although kids these days do a whole lot more at younger age.. Mar 29 09 07:27 pm Link Wait, teenagers dressing like prostitutes and/or just plain sexy in order to sell a product? Does this really happen? Seems unlikely... Mar 29 09 07:45 pm Link taylee belle wrote: It's absolutely tasteful and age-appropriate. Just keep doing your thing... Mar 29 09 07:46 pm Link Biggs Photography wrote: Is this sarcasm? Mar 29 09 07:49 pm Link Biggs Photography wrote: It definately happens. Some are as young as 13. I guess because it happens so often people mark it off as ok. Mar 29 09 07:49 pm Link Pin ups are usually tasteful. I did them when I was 16... why wouldn't they be appropriate? Mar 29 09 07:55 pm Link Dixie Lux wrote: +1 Mar 29 09 07:56 pm Link |
