Haha, but your king of the duct tape.  And it worked with the hardbox.

And I can't see that video, says it's been removed or something.

Try again, I changed it to another link.

I used duct tape again on my hardbox, works great smile

I went to a custom metal fabricator out here in Castaic,  Metal specialties, and had him make a few conversion rings, they are quite HD and cost 109.00 ea.  They work great.

Not sure that I would recommend that course of action.  The parabolics for the reflectors are designed for the head specifically.  Just getting them to attach to the head will not insure that you get the exact effect you are looking for with a Profoto head.  Possibly a more sensible course of action would be to get a Profoto head converted to Speedotron power.  It was a fairly common conversion when Profoto first became popular in the US.  I believe that Silvano in LA and Flash Clinic in NYC did them.  I have another source on the East Coast for custom strobes if either of those don't work.

Okay I called a few speedotron places and they told me an adapter does not exist.

My friend warren came up with a GREAT idea.

Take the bulb cap, cut off the top leaving the threaded part.  Screw it in, and wrap duct tape on top of the plastic cover to create a nice seal.

Presto instant adapter for 12 bucks big_smile

I'm not sure I'd use that if I needed the modeling lamp turned on...

I'm going to be using this adaptor primarily to use for my profoto hardbox.  With that the modeling lamp is utterly useless, so it will be off. big_smile

Fair enough. I've found that for hard light, I need to see the shaping more than with soft, but that's me. I do know some photographers who 'get' light a lot better than I do who don't need that, but I'm not one of them.

Okay, here is what the above mod looks like on the speedotron head.

I later removed the red ring so the hardbox sits lower.  But after a few layers of cardboard and gaffing tape, its a solid adaptor.
