Has certainly be done to death, but don't let that hold you back... Everything has been done, nudes, ballons, water, roses, candy, candles, every single kind of fabric has been used, chocolate, ice cream, paint, latex, baby oil, motor oil, all kinds of freaky makeup, every conceivable chair, sofa , box, car, motorciclye, bicycle, tricycle, monocicle, airplane, robot arm... don't mind, do it....

I believe pipe organ has been done. How about bagpipes?

I did a few searches and couldn't find any examples. However, if they don't already exist, I bet someone reading this thread will make sure to create something.  smile

By the way, if you type bagpipes nude into Google Image Search, you get a very strange collection of images as a result! For example, whatever a fully clothed Captain Kirk and Spock have to do with nudes and bagpipes, I haven't a clue. I must have missed that episode of Star Trekbig_smile

i reccommend you find real musician models, people who an genuinely relate to the instrument they're posing with. its often hard enough trying to get a genuine interaction between a fully clothed model and a sporting prop. For one shoot  I spent literally hours trying to coax an authentic martial arts pose (basic stance)from a model, something I'm qualified to teach, and still ended up with lack lustre results, wheras shooting real students provided fatnastic images from the outset.

When i look at a picture of someone with an instrument I'm just as critical, and for nudes even moreso. Being very cynical I always see a nude figure initially as cheap/easy/tacky way of trying to add interest to an image, and if they are not relating to the props in the image in an authentic fashion it really confirms that suspicion. My girlfriend who is a classical musician is even quicker to pass jugement.

This is cool- I haven't seen a model with a trombone since Grace Jones (although, it was a music video and she was playing it) wink

Now a sousaphone- There's an instrument I'll bet hasn't been done to death! big_smile

...Or, pose them with a gramophone. It's musical, and it's much easier to look like you're actually playing it!  smile

You asked about females, but I've done several male nudes with musical instruments.

In each case, the instruments belonged to the models, and they knew how to play them. I've generally found that if the model actually knows how to play the instrument, that authenticity shows in the final photo. If you stick a violin in the hands of a model that has no idea how to play it, they are more likely to subtly hold it wrong, and it shows.

I'll sign this.

The music was Chopin.  It was demanding.  Image is 18+

If you look at my portfolio you can see me posing with my guitar. But it is kind of overdone. I love seeing nudes with string instruments.

Or you can check out this take on nude posing with an instrument.

I think the nude girl with guitar is way over done.  I saw one absolutely amazing image on her that was a nude (implied nude) woman with a bass. I wish I had the link.

I think setting the right mood/tone is very important.  A slight variation in mood can be the difference between tacky and very appealing on a basic level.

I look forward to seeing your results.

I doubt this is the one you're talking about.... but WTH

someone else has an almost identical image here but they used a guitar (didn't know at the time). I think theirs was much better IMO.

I have the urge to create some artistic nude images with women holding musical instruments.  I just did a google image search to see what has already been done, or perhaps over-done.  No luck.

Are there any photos here on MM that show nude women holding musical instruments?

Any advice on what to avoid?  Cliches, etc...

Thanks!!

Dr. Mike

how funny...I was going to do that the other day, but couldn't get enough instruments, so settled for sports equipment

I have a friend who rebuilds violins. He usually has 20 to 30 restored violins in his possession at any given time. This thread gives me some art ideas. big_smile
