Mayhem #1468265, Kodi Eliza,
https://www.modelmayhem.com/1468265

I found out yesterday that we had lost a great friend here on Modelmayhem, 7 months later.

https://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i179/Chuckarelei/KodiHowthorneRIP.jpg

http://www.kodihawthornestory.info/index.html

Kodi was here only for a short time and only made few connections. So I feel the need to bring attention to our community what a great loss we have here. I want everyone to get to know this wonderful person and what a great young lady she is.

We lost Kodi on April 8th, 2010 on domestic related issues. I urge everyone to visit to the page link above, and make sure Kodi's messages will not lost or be forgotten.

Miss you, Kodi.

Upon being served with a paternity suit by her daughter’s father, Tyler, she arrived in court originally requesting that the father be allowed visitation with his daughter as long as he took his required medication for bipolar disorder, as he had a violent and abusive history.

i cant even begin to comprehend how the courts continued this farce.  gonna sign the crap out of that petition.

I'm very saddened by this. I know it exists as I went through a very rough custody case with my ex wife while we went through our divorce. In the end the courts ruled based on all the testimony in favor of me being granted custody including her very own father and step mother. That was a victory for me but the scares it leaves on the children are what hurt the most.  I know what depression is having gone through that and feel fortunate to have come out on the living side. Many do not come out on that living side and it can only make you think.... if only I was there fro them beforehand, maybe I could have made a difference. Help those around you, care. This is a very sad story and my heart goes out for this beautiful woman. God grant her peace and love.

Wow.

Who was the judge in this case?

And what is Tyler's last name?

I can't believe someone like this is allowed full custody of a child.

this really needs to be shared with state officials and the media.

According to her suicide letter (found on the website) she had two kids.

http://www.kodihawthornestory.info/lett … ehind.html

Here's a quote from the letter:

"I love you all soooo much and most importantly, my children Tayven and Ryah. You are my everythings and I will always be watching over you. I cant bear to be an innocent woman behind bars missing precious moments of my little ones lives and I would rather be watching over you in spirit, as I will. I will always make sure you are ok."

Honestly... I'm not sure what to say.  I have a very strong opinion, but I'll keep it to myself.

I hope she found what she hoped for.

Suicide is always a permanent solution to a temporary problem.  Often, the deceased has a good number of friends who all care, yet for the victim, the problems seem insurmountable, and suicide seems to offer the best solution. That, in itself, is very sad.

As a society, we need to gain a better understanding of suicide, but in general it's what happens when life itself seems too much to bear. That seems to happen when people choose to be mean to each other. We don't have to love everybody, but we all should be aware of how our actions might affect others, and at least, treat people with respect and dignity.

RIP...it's over now.
