I am interested to know what people prefer as a silicone based liquid foundations and why?

Considering your location and the cost of cosmetics there ...
Have you considered full coverage cream foundations (silicone based)?  You can thin them out to a sheerer liquid consistency when needed.  It's far more cost effective IMO.

FACE Atelier Ultra Pro foundations are by far the best imo. You can get them in Australia ast www.makeupandglow.com.au

The finishes on them are very different as well as the color theory. FA leans towards the yellow side and it is a very dewy finish. Looks wonderful on younger people and those who have really dry skin.

Yaby liquid is lovely as well and has a real life demi-matte matte finish. There are yellow based and red based shades that you mix together along with color correcting shades to tweak them.

Both are buildable in coverage you just have to try them out and see what you like. You should get some samples of both if you can.
