Actually, the most recognisable parts of MV are within Utah, and both of those pics are from that very state. The road pic is on US 163 looking south towards AZ just about on the border, and the grand sunset vista is from within the AZ side of the park but looking north into Utah.

Just a little bit of info!

Russia is also a place with an incredible natural diversity and is famous for their hospitality...

But, not much is published over here about it...

Otherwise, Canada, closest neighbor has incredible diversity as well... maybe it's not so much a "United States of America" thingy... but a North America thingy... smile

Russia is a country I'm dying to visit. I'd need to brush up on my Russian before though... It's been 6 years since my last class. I love the language, how it sounds. There is something that's been fascinating me for the longest time ever. If I could, I'd hit up Siberia, around Lake Baikal.

Well... I only know about it really from my parents, my father is Ukrainian, and my mother Russian (so... I am mixed... tongue) but never been there (we never could: political reasons) and I didn't speak Russian since my early teens...

But would be interesting... also, I heard that Ukrainians usually have a more positive outlook on life than Russians... but I can't verify that one... smile

Nice! I also collect Russian dolls/matryoshkas (I even have a tattoo of one, the photo's on my profile page here), so I'd love to get one from there.

I'm also a big history buff. I want to see Red Square!

The Russians here talk sooooo fast, I can barely pick up anything they say. I live in an area of Montreal that you could call Little Russia. We even have a Russian/Eastern European grocery store. It's full of awesome stuff. big_smile

Couldn't agree more, Russia and all of it's former states are amazing! I'd absolutely love to visit the country one day. We have a wonderful Russian community here in London too, totally amazing, friendly and caring people!

This, from just 3 states, there's another 47 to consider!

I honestly cannot think of a single country on the planet that has as much diversity and natural beauty as the USA. Plus, the people that I've known and encountered on my travels throughout the country are amongst the warmest, most friendly and genuinely caring people I've ever known.

Yes, I am an official USA fan!

To be fair, that's probably the best representation. Most of the scenery east of the Rockies isn't all that impressive. wink

I have yet to meet a person who doesn't say that the country they're from is the best, which has always confused me about foreigners living in Canada. If the country they're born in is better, they should be living there.

Everyone says their country is the best!

Therefore, Canada is the best! smile

I know a lot of people from 3rd world countries who have nothing, but they think they're better then everyone else and come here, benefit from us while insulting everything about us cuz of course they're better, somehow.

Doh! I don't know why, but I assumed the tour guide in New Zealand was correct when he said the only other place was Norway. Really dumb of me since I spent a summer as a commercial salmon fisherman in Kenai! lol

The main reason I have never left California is because within it's borders there are every kind of terrain, climate and scenery. Very divers piece of land.
Never ending ops if you're outdoorsy and/or a photographer and artist.

Like the commercial says, where else can you ski the alpines, play in the desert and surf pristine warm beaches all in one day.

Good thing the OP did not start in NJ or he may not have gotten as far west at PA! With an elevation change of less than 100 feet once you leave the beach the you have left the natural beauty of the state.

Well ,all i can say,is that we have lots of animals, some of the highest dunes in the world, one of the oldest deserts, stunning beaches(that is,if you know where to look for them, and no,not up NORTH).Waterfalls, some of the deepest and largest underground lakes.Very good and pure beer, and farm animals gaze on natural grazing, thus the  meat is absolutely tops.Definetly, not vegetarian heaven.:-))
