because I already know how great your port is and how fabulous of a model that you are. so your avi will most likely not have much bearing on my likelihood to look. However, all that being said.......I do like the avatar!

I'll play just because I can not sleep.  My Avatar is because of many silly issues with MM going back to "day one" and it is what it is.  I like it and that image has made me A Lot of money.  It is my Avatar on MM because, it does not require a model release, It is simple and graphic and does not show any nudity......

Oh hell no! But you've already liked it!
I know it's tacky as hell but it puts asses in the seats! It had more views in half the time on here than anything else I posted.

And quite frankly, I'm a fan of yours too! Am I being too maudlin?

What do you look for specifically in an avatar as opposed to what you might like to see in a portfolio in general? Is there a difference?

Thanks for asking Noel....
Well, I will tell you what I think. That is pretty much all I can do, and you can choose what to do with what I tell you.

there are avatars that will catch my eye when I post on another person's photo, thread or even on the main page, some avatar's will catch my eye. What makes those Avatar's stand out? Here is a short list:

1. bigger is usually better. Far away photos don't work on a small avatar. They have to grab my attention in about 1/4 of a second at most, and if my eye/brain has to figure out the avatar photo because you are too small in it or it is too busy, then it will not catch my eye

2. Colors.....bright colors catch my eye better. White (not so much a color but you get the idea) and red do the job the best. If you do a B/W then make sure that it really pops me in the face and says "HEY!! Look at me!!"  That is why I use the avatar that I use. It stands out. If the photo was smaller, it would not stand out. Do you agree?

3. Photos with curves and lines work very well. I will quantify this up front by saying I am a huge heterosexual. Just the way I am. We all have things about the opposite sex that really catch our attention. Look at the previous comments I have made......especially the ones that say "100% yes". There is something in the photo that sets the female apart.......legs, curves, behind, eyes, ........those catch my eye alot. And if you can highlight them, then I will more likely look at your port.......and maybe even list  or want to work with you if even possible.

4. Males. As I said before, I am a heterosexual. So you are already at a disadvantage if you are a male. However, I will look more if you have a very creative avatar (because I like creativity no matter what your sex is), and I also enjoy beauty. Beauty can be male or female, but once again I inherently believe that females have more inherent beauty. Just the way I am.

OK, now to your avatar. I do like your avatar. But if I was quickly scanning a page, yours might not stand out a great deal. Why? Because it is a bit darker. But, I do like the contrast and I do like the tease factor you offer. I like your port, and wish we lived closer because I would enjoy working with a good model such as yourself. But......to get back to your question, would I look based on your avatar? I will say about 60% yes.

Once again, all this is my opinion, and someone else may give you a different opinion. So value this as much as you choose. Thanks for stopping by and thanks for asking.
P.

Your lines and sleek body, along with the contrast of your hair against the black is good. The lack of color not quite as good. I will say 75% yes

I like your facial structure, as it has some exotic features. However, there is not really enough "pop" in that shot to make me want to see more.

I did look at your port, and you have at least a shot or two that IMO would get more attention than your current avi........

Thanks for stopping in and enjoy your day!

Hi Eric,
Thanks for stopping by and asking. I bow to your work and the amazing beauties you have worked with. You have many shots that are simply show-stoppers. Amazing quality and work! However, your current avatar doesn't show me that talent, and based on that I would most likely pass your port by.......which would be a huge shame!!!

Thank you for going into so much detail with your response! You've given me a lot to work with and I think it will really help me. And thank you for telling me WHY my avatar is or isn't okay. There's no point in getting an answer if I don't understand the reasoning behind it.

It is intriguing, but the darkness of the shot will probably mean I won't notice it much
