This photo is ok, but its just one step above from a snapshot. THe background is blurry yet enough seen to confuse - is it perhaps a cemetery? Just delete it.

This portrait is truly gorgeous, including the model, her downright glance and the light.

Thank you very much. I appreciate it smile If it wouldn't be too much, maybe you could take a quick peek here http://youmebookbednow.tumblr.com/tagged/portraits and let me know just which I should place in my port here? Sorry for the bother and so much thanks smile

While there is some art in this image, the implementation, including the light, is not captivating adding no value to your port.

This one should go as well. Your expression is bluh.

Any railroad tracks image is a huge liability to one's port as it is perceived as unoriginal.  To make things even worse, her expression is quirky to put it gently.

I do like the way you portrayed her hot figure here through her pose and tease of lifting her skirt.

I would say your best image so far is this one showing your handsome face. Aslo the image to the right is to keep

http://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/120822/11/5035287109055_m.jpg

In the future, I encourage you to shoot non- guitar images for diversity and use only the very best photographers, even if it means spending some money for your first professional shoot. Its a worthwhile investment if you are serious about staying in this business.

Thank you. I look forward to adding some professional images and slowly taking all of these ones out as I do. =]

Unlike your other images, this one is amateurish so get rid of it. I know your intent was to highlight your interest in fitness modelling, but you need to maintain certain minimum standards of photography which this image does not meet. I suggest in the future you create a snowboarding scene with some action as well. BTW I am an avid snowboarder myself smile

http://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/120825/15/503950960a55a_m.jpg

I would also suggest getting rid of one or two of your flowered dress images as you posted too many. One more thing...in half your images you pose with your hands up. Dont do this in the future as contrived poses are annoying.

Love your pose, flowing hair and artistic rendering here:

There is lots of great photography in you tumblr page. Few of my favorites are
1. 1st image in the third row, B&W back view/profile of girl
2. girl in a beige sweather sitting on a log bench looking down
3. girl in red skirt, standing on a roof, hands up, looking at skyline

Since you have joined MM a year ago, you have worked with many models and experimented with various interesting styles. You demonstrate talent for capturing beauty in well composed images that are quite alluring. Expressions, poses, wardrobe are great. Your port is good but how to make it better? The answer is, predictably, to trim down to bare bones. It is the theme of this thread ... LESS  IS MORE.

So which images to remove? I know it is hard to do, because, like other photogs,  you want to reward all your models by posting their images. But remember, this is YOUR port, not theirs. So one rule of advice would be, post the best image of your last shoot but only if it meets the caliber of your port. If you are a comment lover like most of us here, then if you dont get a fair number of comments in a few weeks, delete the image. Or at least hide it.

There are a bunch of multiple images of the same model that ought to go. One such image is this one and its related image.

http://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/120423/16/4f95e02020722_m.jpg

While Janele Mystique is a beautiful girl, post only one of her. Incidentallyy she is also one of my favorites in your port which I list at the bottom of this post.

Two of the three images of Cheyenne Gabriel and Harmony Universe should also go as they are too similar to be of any value, which is a detriment. Plus they wear boring expressions, perhaps shot at the end of the shoot when they were tired?

http://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/120713/07/50003125bdb7b_m.jpg

75 images in any MM pport is too many. Work hard to trim your port down to under 40. Did I forget to mention less is more?

While I suggested removing few of Janele Mystique's images, one of hers happens to also be one of my favorites. The gothic theme, luscious grass and her expression are exquisite. She is practically my neighbor, I would love to shoot with her. Will you make the introduction, please ?  smile

My cousin lives in Clifton, New Jersey, so you automatically get a bonus point. And since your port is brief, you get another bonus point smile

While B&W images often capture the soul, this one is rather boring due to your lackluster expression. However, I do recommend adding otehr B&W's in the future.

Karen, I find your work unique and thought provoking and you certainly have consistent style. Your's is a work of art. As our subject matter vastly differs I am not sure I am qualified to comment (coincidentally I have worked with some of the same models as you did). But let me try, as I suppose there are some general standards in judging effectiveness of ports that may apply.

You need to trim your port down. I may sound like a broken record player, but I feel strongly about this point. The purpose of a port is to draw a viewer in, to demonstrate one's range of styles and competence as artist and photographer in fewest images possible. This is your gallery not an archive. Give a viewer just a taste, leaving him/her with the desire to know more. Its same like gourmet dinner. Visit a French restaurant and you will see how small their portions are. Get it?

Get rid of ALL old images that have low comment-to-view ratio. For example, the image below had 143 views with no comments. Listen to your audience. Even more importantly, the image subject is too similar to many other of your images. Or am I missing here something?

http://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/120406/08/4f7f062144514_m.jpg

I do love this image because maybe it is closer to the style I can relate to. I also like your recent experimentation with underwater photography, a nice diversification.

I have been aware of your work for some time. I love your unique poses, my favorite is in your Yoga picture. You ought to remove the following as you already have two variations.

http://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/111121/15/4ecadedaaa250_m.jpg

Also remove the sketches - the last two images of your port - as I find the work of the sketcher neither artistic nor flattering to your beauty.

http://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/110821/12/4e515d3ad2a4d_m.jpg

There are a few others I would propose removing. Send me a PM if you wish to discuss.

My fave as mentioned is your Yoga image, and many of your other contortionist poses.
