I get you do not want to share your age but why not lie in a range that doesn't eliminate you from searches? And of course  Iknow we can search other ways but with so many models to choose from I use age and always fill the need, so you get missed. I do expect some flippant answers, but they will come from models I wouldn't use anyway. Really just want to know. And don't waste our time with age shouldn't matter....at some point it does.

Because for some reason, MM refuses to consider "n/a" as an age option.

Some models don't want to be solicited

not everyone is here for the same reason (ie. to work with as many internet photographers as humanly possibly)

The browse search use to stop at 99 so they weren't found by some searches, I think they fixed that, don't use it much.

So why have any information if not wanting to be solicited. Just putting in a false age doesn't keep one from being solicited.....of course there are times I do not use age as a factor and they come up....so this answer doesn't make sense.

of course they get found if age isn't used.... they tell the truth about everything else....so this answer makes no sense either

i think it's been fixed, but at some point setting your age to over 100 basically made sure that search wouldn't find you at all... and i mean at all...

keep in mind, some people don't want to be found by everyone smile

Because they are earning so much $$$'s in the real world of modeling that they don't need to work with us mediocre photographers here on MM..
But they have an MM portfolio to showcase some of their incredible modeling work..

I thought that was general knowledge...

You seem to be asking for a more complete statement of the answer, I'll try.

Because they do not wish to be searched for, selected, compared, or judged based on the criteria of age.

Thanks for a concise answer. I actually gave up here and went and asked some and you are right, they do not want age to play into it which I guess makes sense if you have all the work you need, and the ones I asked do. I just think why not lie in a range that includes you, and to say they do not need it...... what if it were Vogue or similar work doing the search? Would they be glad they dodged that bullet?  I don't know seems silly to me.

Soon all models on MM will be 102 years old.

Every single time I see a thread that 'addresses' this concern... it makes me think "Why do you even care?"

Does your camera magically photograph a number associated with the would-be model and there for MUST have a model of a given age?

Models that put 100+ as their age don't WANT to be searched.
Some actually get discriminated against if they put their true age instead of the age they LOOK LIKE!

Look at a fuckin' photo and if they have the look you need, it shouldn't matter if they are 18 or 50... the look fits your needs.

Also... please post a reputable agency where the model's age is attached to their portfolio.

for the same reason a 22 year old photographer can 'boast' 10 years of professional experience but want to TF with models to expand their port past 5 images of their girlfriend.

Hahahahahahahahaha. No, no. Vogue doesn't search MM.

Also, if they are putting 102, they are likely either not wanting to be searched (and a lot of people looking for young models put a max age, like 24, and it leaves them out), or they are above the age range that would be ideal anyway (16-22ish). Vogue doesn't go searching for 27 year-old models.

So, if they're 27 and look 21, why do they not put 21 or 22, something believable? Outside the not being searchable, they may not want to be misleading. If someone says they are 21 and they are 25, if you find out, you might get mad because you BELIEVED they were 21. If someone says they are 102, either you don't believe it, or you're entirely too gullible.

So just do a seperate search for 102yr old models.   Most of them are very attractive and drama free.   Oh but they probably wont TF.    lol, still laughing at the VOGUE comment:)

Searching based on model stats is generally useless. Better off searching by "last time on" and limit it to..... Logged in within: 7 days in your area.  otherwise you are just investing in no answer/flakes regardless of stats.

You can find them by setting the lower age to 100 and the upper to "any".
A check of just Canada found 244, ranging in listed age from 100 to 121.
To check the other end, I set the lowest at "any" and the upper at 16. Among the results were 1 at 15, and 5 at 12. (all experienced.)
Checking from 70 to 100 found some verry young looking seniors! lol

My guess is that they want to be judged on the strength of their folio rather than a number on their birth certificate. A model that looks 10-20 years younger/older than they are might be faced with a dilemma of what age to put themselves down as, the age they look, or their actual age, and does it really matter what number is on their birth certificate when the bulk of photographers here are doing personal projects?
(the exception being for under 18's)

I'm only guessing, because if I looked tons younger I'd probably do something like that, people may assume the youthfulness was all photoshop magic and I wouldn't want to get written off immediately as an old photoshopped hag.

I dunno, Tim... you're coming across pretty pissy.

Chill out a bit and start working with what you have to choose from - which apparently is a modeling site where not everyone puts their age in correctly.

Just search/browse the models in your area, and you should be able to see fairly quickly by their pics if you want to approach them or not.

Or you could put up a casting call.

But above all, relax... this type of shit isn't worth getting all bothered over, ya know?

not sure about Vogue, but the modern scouting agents find the new models (including 5-15 yo kids) in abandoned lands, in Siberian taiga and remote deserts...

you never know how they get a tip-off, plus the MM info data is collected by google, after all and pics are processed by image recognition software automatically

PhotoVogue Italy Online in their efforts to seek the new talented photogs, accepts the submissions from everybody (for free, and not like many "competitions" where you're supposed to pay sometimes outrageous entry fees), and the best pics go to their printed version.

That topics was already discussed on MM many times (if you use the search function you can obtain an idea).
I suggest to ask at the:

too add a range limit about appearance and putting a time limit for adjust it during the transitional phase of change.

I've come across a few models who are 99/102. Normally this happens when a model refuses to accept their real age. I'm ok with them not turning up in searches.
