My husband is just starting to take a real intrest in photography.  After 5 years of his support in my modeling, I find it silly to even think of jealousy.  He has never gotten jealous when I get nude for photographers.  All he ever says to me is "You do what you like and feel comfortable with."  He loves me way too much to ruin our marriage over innappropriate behaviour, and he knows I love him too much too.  It's all about trust.  I trust him completely smile

What a pointless issue.  You make some presumption that we're outside the norm, some sort of perverts or freaks. Would you feel better if those of us who are "nude photographers" wore a Scarlet "N" our our chests? I haven't looked, but I assume this question was raised by an American. Nobody else in the world cares one way or the other. Ah, the American fear of nipples. You can expose everything but two bits of skin the size of a coin. Frankly, if I were single and dating, I wouldn't date anyone with that kind of puritanical point of view. Get a life.

As a nude photographer, my bed is kept warm much more often than before. I'm exposed to more artsy types who share similar interests.

However, when I did nude modelling I got shot down quite a bit for dates, as that bothers a lot of people it seems.

The better question would be do models who do not shoot nudes, would they date a photographer who photographs nude models.

Why or why not?

If he is someone that I would date regardless of him shooting nudes then yes, I would date him as his art is not a dealbreaker, (quite the opposite.)

I feel more comfortable around people that have an artistic perception and view of the world and want to create work to express express or live that and can relate to *some* of them more than with people who are not like that.

I honestly dont care what someone does...as long as they dont lie about it or act like its some kind of issue. Within reason. I am both a naked model and photographer big_smile
i used to have five naked women including myself running around my place for weeks. I didnt date any of them...but I did live with my bf at the time who had no issue...other than the estrogen overload making him leave

Beautiful gets commonplace...if you are a REAL photographer or artist...you are concentrating on the exposure and composition...no matter how erotic the subject may be. So men and women are attracted to surface beauty...If you actually  have muses you shoot a million times...It becomes a different ballgame. Once you shoot with 200 photographers and have shot with 200 models...you realize that this american association with nude/sensual and available are farces.

I wouldnt date a prude. They wouldnt last a week. And i would think a photographer that was uptight about shhooting nudes would be uptight about dating a model who did.

Personally, if I had five naked women running around the house, models or not, I'd find a way to deal with it.  big_smile

Assuming I was single, I wouldn't have a problem dating a model who didn't shoot nudes, if she treated it as a personal preference, rather than judging me or the models I worked with.

I can think of several non nude models from the forums and from my personal work who have completely respectful attitudes about work that they personally don't do.  If I praise them by name, someone would probably deem it outing, so I won't.

My husband is a professional fashion photographer (who sometimes includes an element of nudity in his shots where fits). I am completely comfortable with him doing this just as he is comfortable with my modeling. We trust each other and both know how each other conducts themself on set.

Am I one of the few models to say no?

No.

I enjoy a separation of work and home life.  It's nice to share life with a person who rounds me out.  I model full time and spend a lot of my day preparing for work, going to castings, emailing about work, actually working, etc.  At the end of the day I like to forget work - I'm not sure I'd want to be involved with someone else in the same field.  I feel like we'd just end up taking work home all the time.  That's not how I recharge.

It's not a trust issue, just a conflict of interests wink When you spend your day immersed in something, it's a breath of fresh air to be with a person who brings you a different perspective.

Would I date someone with an interest in photography (any genre)? Sure, I don't see why not.  Would I date someone who does this full time as a profession?  Not likely.

It depends on the qualty of the nudes.  If he is just shooting "naked girls" and has only chosen nude photography to get women into bed, lol then no. But if he is a true artist who acts professional, then sure i'd date him smile

Like the above poster, I wouldn't either.
not because they shoot nudes but rather because I wouldn't want to date someone in the same field as me.

Sure I would. For the same reasons that my boyfriend (well, now husband) trusts me to be naked around people. It's just about being a in a secure, trusting relationship.

Me, too except change to girlfriend (well, now wife). She actually likes hanging around the photographer side of the camera.

Exactly.

And...once a photog shoots nudes, does the list of approving dates shrink to only include nude models?

Hence the secrecy on MM.

It does appear to require substituting one group of friends for another.

Yes, that's a powerfull benefit.

"Honey, if you let me strip for strange men, I'll let you see all the naked women you want."

Hard to say no to that...

Phone conversaton with my wife from a couple of years ago:

She: "Hi baby, what are you doing?"

I: "I'm in a hotel room with a naked woman."

She: "Do you have your camera with you?"

I: "Yes."

She: "Ok, then. See you tonight."

I love my wife.

why not? It would be the same as someone distrusting me for doing nude modelling.
If someone is likely to be unreliable and deceptive, I like to think I'd figure that out and if not just cut it out once you notice.

Are you okay?  or just seeing if you can find controversy?

I already answered on the other thread, and it's the same view as the models here.  You have the WRONG question.  I find it sad when people don't even know the question they should be asking.
