Glad to see models get off MM and go find real work.

I should too.

+1.....except for the part about you leaving MM.  You can't leave until we've done a shoot together.  smile

The possessiveness displayed by the OP is quite amusing.

It's very common. Good for them.

How can you not support your friend's success?  Many of my favorite models have referred me to new clients and other talent.

If you became an exclusive photographer for Men's Health Magazine do you think your model's would whine about it on MM?

I believe you misunderstand me. I DO support any model's success. I heartily congratulated the guy and wished him alll the success he can handle. He's got a good look and I can see why he is agency reppresented.

My wife refers to models I've worked with as "your models". I'm pretty sure she knows I don't own any models.

Maybe I'm lazy, but I'd rather say "my models" than "the models that I have worked with"

I am glad when anyone is amused. But the term "my" in the English language has multiple meanings as indeed most words do.

"My toothbrush" .... indicates possession.

"My Mother" ......indicates a relationship.

"My goodness gracious" ........ is exclamatory in nature.

"myself" is identity not possession.

My model ...... likewise indicatges a relationship, usually having worked together.

I suppose you could strain to find ambiguity in the term "my". I suppose I could have a stable of models locked in the tool shed chained to the walls. I still would not possess them.

As I have stated several times I am glad this guy is moving up in the world, just sad we are unlikely to work together again. I do not begrudge anyone their success. I rejoice in it.

Just got a message from one of my newest models whoi is leaving MM for an exclusive agency contract. How common is this? Hate to see teh good ones get away.

Good for her.  I wish her success and I do wish she gets lots of work from the agency.

However, I do see many models signing exclusive contract but that do not translate into success.  Being signed with an agency does not guarantee work or success.

Glad to see llamas get off MM and go find real work.

I should too.

I disagree. MM is reality. It is the reality of the niche market that has been dubbed 'internet llamaing'. As far as I'm concerned, internet llamaing is real work. What MM is not is traditional commercial/editorial, agency based llamaing. Although the two are separate and distinct, I sometimes see MM members make references that are directly related to agency llamaing and equate them with internet llamaing as though the two were interchangeable.

HIM.... LOL. he is a male model. but what you say still applies. Hopefully the agency can get him work. He has a good look and I think he will do well.

Hmmmm.

I see my friends all the time on the weekends but Monday through Friday
I work with my co-workers
I go to lunch with my stock broker right after I talk to the guy who sold me my house (my realtor).
In the afternoon,
I met with my senator and my local congressmen right after discussing politics with
The civilian liaison chief of my police department who also happens to be
my dentist.  Then I went for a jog.
My personal trainer told me to.

My, my.

This.  When I was a PC I had "my" officers.  Didn't own any of them.
I have "my" llamas but don't own, or even socialize with them.

Sometimes many of you people on here are deliberately obtuse, perhaps merely for provocation, perhaps just stupid.

Sometimes you only have a brief window during their way up to better things or way down to quitting. Take advantage while you can and keep the pool large.

the replies in this thread debating the meaning of the OP using the term "my model" and turning it into something it isn't is proof that MM is lame.
