I'm thinking about putting up a website for the sake of promoting myself and helping to create a brand.
Do any of you girls have a website? If yes, what are you using it for and has it been worth the effort to promote your modeling career?
I'm trying to figure if its something I really want to do.

If you know what you're doing, or you have someone to help you.
A bad website will make you look worse.

I've had a website for ages. At one stage I was getting heaps of traffic but when i looked at the statistics it was people overseas and not likely to be booking me for shoots. It was basically a free perve show, so I re-vamped it to be more relevant for modelling and removed my link from non industry sites. The traffic has now dropped to almost nothing.
Even so before and after the big traffic times I hardly got any serious enquiries, I think I have had maybe 2 serious contacts over 7 years from the site and lots of messages from drooling idiots, or people wanting autographs (something that's been brought up in this forum)
I also made a bit of a mistake by swapping from my own html coded site to wordpress to be trendy but the theme I bought wasn't secure. It would get hacked about 2 weeks after I rebuilt it, this happened about 5 times in a row in a 3 month period (once was 2 days after I rebuilt the bloody thing)! It has been re built and completely redesigned (again) to be hacker proof by a friend but I've done him a disservice because I've not bothered with it much since. The never ending hack/rebuild cycle really put me off websites forever.
My opinion is that it's nice to have as a bragging piece and you can display more of your work, but not really worth it as far as time and money goes.

Id say even if you dont get a website and maintain it, still buy the domain name of your choice ahead of time. Small investment for the future

Ladies, a blog might be a better fit so you can write about the photo session and also add photos. Go to wordpress.com its free and easy to use.

Thanks for the responses. I'm really just trying to figure out how to make more money doing this. I'm still not even sure what direction I'm really going in modeling but I want to be positioned to make the most out of it.

I bought the domain name for now but until I start doing more, I won't bother investing in the design of an actual site.
