Hi folks. smile

First of all, this is NOT me looking for attention or comments or any of that stuff. This is actually a plea for help. big_smile

I'm about to join a contest for a german photoshop magazine and I'm reeeeally looking forward to it. I'd love to end up somewhere among the top 10 who get published. wink
To join, I need to send in my best work (a composing/compositing, I really don't know what you guys ended up calling it; NOT a retouch!). But I can't decide.

Sooooo this is my humble request for all you talented artists out there to please check my port and give me a vote (just tell me here or by message, you don't need to comment). I'd be eternally thankfull for any feedback.

Kaythanksbye. big_smile

I love the idea

but it's rather too over-sharpened IMHO

P.S.: I'm not a talented artist, though. sorry my intrusion here

Thank you, but I think this one is a bit too... simple. Not kickass enough if you know what I mean. big_smile
(I might end up redoing that one at some point, it's old work and I could do better by now... So thanks for pointing out "flaws".)

it's not in a critique forum. all can I say sometimes the power is in simplicity and tiniest details, more subtlety. not overdoing stuff too much till "kitchy" state -- now I don't mean this particular image, but all others.

I would advise you *if you haven't done so already*.. to take a look at the T&C.. because a lot of these 'competitions' are basically just ways to allow work to be reproduced.. which can be a great form of exposure for you, but there are drawbacks also..

A number of years ago a friend of mine entered the Nikon *I believe* competition. He did not win, but they reproduced his work in promotional media, and did not tell him about this.. because entering the competition allows them rights to reproduce and use your work. I was at a public forum where I picked up catalogues, which I later passes on to him. He was completely unaware, and shocked!

Many photography competitions will do the same.. so just be aware that you may see your work duplicated, even if you don't win, and you probably won't be told of this either.

Thanks everyone for any kind of feedback, much appreciated. On the reproduction issue, I studied the fine print for a bit but might take another closer look.

(Didn't put the thread in this section because it said retouches ONLY hmmmm... But ok. big_smile)

Seems like the most balanced of all, no deep shadows or bright highlights to detract from it smile
