I've been in and out of school pretty much forever.  I'm 45 now just getting into a Bachelor's degree.  I'm half way done.

I hear you, though.  The other times, I just took classes I wanted to take, so it was fun.  Now, I have to take all these fucking liberal arts classes, too.  Hate em.

After my dad retired, he went back to school to take Art classes.

It's been over 20 years and he's still taking classes.

Every once in a while they try to get him to graduate, but he hasn't taken all of the required courses.

However, I never stop learning...Life can be a hard taskmaster at times.

It's true you can leave academia...but you never should stop learning.

Many "certifications" along the way.

Never. We all learn something every day. Sometimes we learn as a collective and sometimes as an individual. Sometimes it's insignificant and sometimes it's profound but it's still something new filling our gray matter whether we like it or not.

Finished my bachelor at 34. Dinked and dunked at college and not-college for years, then decided to knuckle down at 31. Had a wonderful time along the way.

I don't know if anyone else has found this to be true, but I think you learn more experiencing life instead of sitting in a classroom dreaming about it. I learned so much more being in the real world then I ever have in school. Learning more about yourself through personal interest and life experiences will teach you so much more than anything else.

Nope.  I learned more in school.  That type of knowledge had worked to directly increase my pay.

because of my schooling (and access to money) I found myself.

I got my master's degree at 23. Now at 24 I already want to go back. Hindsight is 20/20. I was so ready to be done a year and a half ago.

Now I'm rested and ready to go back big_smile

I have(-: no one believes me though:P I believe learning is easier when you aren't being force fed anything and don't Have to do anything. Simply learning about things that actually interest me on a daily basis I think is more productive than schooling was

I'm 36 not attending school currently but life for me would be so much different had I completed my studies when I was in my 20's. Plan to go back and finish whenever the real world will let go of my foot. Good luck to you with whatever you decide.

Exactly, I feel the same way. Spending a year in the Military would teach me so much more than spending a year in a classroom. The only way you can really learn to navigate your way around life is by living it.

I'd eventually like to go back for my masters degree in early music performance, or music history, but I think it'll be a while.  I loved school (college, not high school).

I agree.

I found a combination of school and work and life got me something I never would have gotten otherwise.  Depends on what one wants to do, I suppose.  For me there was no other way.

I graduated high school when I was 18 and then finished university shortly before my 23rd birthday (and got diploma shortly after).

So, 23 I guess. I'm considering going back to school in January though.
