I didn't say any of that, but maybe I should have just clarified that there don't seem to be any in my town.

You're not exactly in the hotbed of attractive people who feel comfortable being out about their homosexuality

Uh yeah. Lots of them.

Key is to not assume everyone is straight unless they *look* gay to you.

Haha yeah, I guess I've only ever dated women in Austin and there's definitely a selection there.

I always keep an open mind! A girl can hope.

Women have natural curiosity about other women in their vicinity, I've noticed they give the same looks as guys do when they express interest, so that doesn't make it any easier! I need better gaydar hmm

There is a solid gay community here, but not many lesbians for some reason...

You could just hit on the ones you find attractive.
Be gracious about "oh, I'm not gay, gross".
Just be like "Let me know if that ever changes BIG WINK" or whatever. Not like, pushy, just flirty gracious. Everyone likes to be told they're sexy, even if it's not from the gender they like to fuck.

For a girl like you it'd be worth the possible rejection haha...

I am sorry for what the internet has done to you and millions of others. I hope in time you will come to realize that the irritation, bitterness, and subsequent outbursts shrouded in anonymity are not an indication of your undoubtedly pleasant true self, but a construct of this so called "social networking."

Now, taking into account that I am just a fellow human being simply attempting to connect, talk, laugh and learn with other human beings, would you like to rephrase your response?

Yes, they exist.  As one very feminine-looking lesbian friend said to me, "If I'm not interested in guys, why would I want to date a girl who looks like a guy?"

Of course there are!

I'm a super straight, super married girl, but nothing but flattered when hit on by a woman. Especially a pretty one. Why wouldn't I be?

Where's the "like" button when you need it? Best response to a comment like that I've read in, well, that I've read ever.

I think about this sometimes too

my experience with lipstick lesbians, aka pretty women that like women, 90% of the time has been that they are not opposed to male companionship

no matter how much they say to "give up" "why don't they get I'm lesbian" etc. in person, online, etc, their female affinity has never been an absolute

I think the labels are too constricting
