I would appreciate your opinion, another llama rewrote part of my profile statement in a different discussion several months ago but possibly it could still benefit from change?

Haha, I think that was me, I remember your profile. I read through it again and I don't see anything else I'd change, but that's probably because any changes I would have already suggested are made or don't bother me anymore. smile

I think I will change it soon to something more clean and personal maybe, but some advice on it would definitely come handy.
Thanks in advance!

I used to have a great bio, then some weirdo copy-pasted it into her profile, so I changed it... has never quite felt "right" since...

A good opener would help your bio, I think. Maybe something like...

"You bring the camera, I'll bring the ZING! I'm Elizabeth, an insatiably curious and eclectic model who freelances in addition to agency representation."

This might add some spice:

"I shoot fast, study hard and come prepared to make your vision a reality. Travelling, meeting new people and contributing to a creative team are what keep me enthusiastic about modeling and life. Send me a message and let's get started!"

It's a little word-heavy. Maybe try something less detailed and more specific to who you are and what you can provide to a client.

"I'm an experienced and creative model with rates as reasonable and flexible as my body. I have worked across Australia and Japan, and have been published in Australia, the US and in Europe. I won't work for "future joint sale profits" but I'm willing to discuss fees that are within your budget."

That kind of sums up the first half of your bio into the most informative part. A reader really just wants to get down to the nitty gritty of your portfolio.

This might be more effective:

"I'm a model and actor loyal to my clients and dedicated to creating artistic results. Creativity for me is my business, my career, my life and I take it very seriously. Message me so we can get started!"

An opener like this might be interesting:

"Climbing a mountain, jumping out of a plane, riding a roller coaster--nothing can compare to the way modeling makes me feel."

Your bio reads much like a quiet questionnaire. Maybe replacing it with something like this would give it a boost:

I'm English but have a knack for Japanese street fashions. I seek collaborators who aren't afraid to experiment with unusual ideas. You don’t have to be experienced, rich or super tall, just creative and fun. If you like my portfolio or have a suggestion, I want to hear about it!"

Maybe an adjustment like...

"I love working with photographers, stylists and makeup artists who can take my portfolio to the next level."

Sounds a little more enthusiastic, eh?

Your bio has a good skeleton. Using bits and pieces maybe it could sound like...

See my beautiful toes? I'm a rubenesque and foot model who will go the extra mile for you. Willing to shoot at my home or on location. Escort preferred but negotiable. Implied nudity is my limit, non-negotiable. Themes certain to pique my interest include but are not limited to pin-up/rockabilly, vintage, and fine art.

Something that seems to go with the flow you already have could be to add this:

Hair/makeup is my forte. <b>Latex is my game.<\b>

It sounds darker, like what you mention you're trying to get into. smile

I am under the impression that no one reads profiles anymore, hence the lack of text on mine.

But I'll give it a go.

Right now there's nothing that identifies anything special or unique about you.

"I recently graduated from college and right now I'm just working in the food and beverage industry. I enjoy dancing and listening to music. I joined MM because I am interested in Modeling."

To spice it up, maybe try something like...

"I'm a college graduate who can dance and model, often at the same time..."

Not sure if I can give a suggestion of actual text, but maybe next time you sit down at the computer just make a quick list of what you want to accomplish here on MM. Do you want to get famous? Mingle with artists? Retire early and model in your free time? Mentioning these types of things is valuable for someone trying to imagine how they could include you in a potential gig.

It seems a bit choppy, like dropping breadcrumbs hoping someone can find the trail. Maybe you could try something with more pop like...

"I'm a rubenesque model always looking for makeup artists and photographers who can enhance my affinity for classics, fine art, and rockabilly. I also have cute feet and take my inspiration from beauties like Tess Munster, London Andrews, Whitney Thompson, and Marilyn Monroe."

Wow. Just...wow. Your portfolio is adequately descriptive and thorough. Everything about it demonstrates you have your act together, and that is highly attractive to a client. Keep it up and you'll go places!

Hi there,

I love that I had stumbled upon this thread and I appreciate your offer in helping the Model Mayhem community with their bios.

If you have some time, I'd like you to help me fix my crappy bio. I feel like it definitely needs life and some other suggestions.

Thank you!

Hi, Nasiana! Welcome back to modeling. smile Something to remember when writjng a bio intended for clients you hope to work with is to include info as concisely as possible. Most people will go to your portfolio before reading your bio anyway so it's important to give them what they need to know as quickly as possible before they are tempted to move on. Here's what I suggest:

"I'm a model and stylist with a keen interest in fashion and publicly-noticeable style, and have a background as a creative consultant and stylist for friends and branding companies such as [__name one__]. I hope to work with photographers and other creative artists to design my look book!

Please message me if you are down to talk about creating beautiful work together!"

That's really it. Short, personable, descriptive and describes your goals without being too specific. I hope this helps! Good luck out there. smile
