Any one got tips on how to light like Patrick Demarchilier series Acid Reign?

Looks like an open flash head through a makeshift doorway perhaps...

Get a couple closet doors to use as full-length flags (they are cheap and stand on their own).  Shoot with a bare bulb through them, but far enough back to get the shadow you want. 

This will work if you want the edges of the shadow parallel, if you want them at an angle use foam core and position as necessary.

Patrick does this often enough. You rent an optical projector/flash, use the volts in it or make your own, filter the ambient light flash which is a much less intense flash somewhere off axis to colour the shadows.

With Broncolor it's called the Profil I think.  Prophoto have their own too.
