For me...
this new design just seems to fit my shooting style, quality demands
and can be built upon with the EVF,aux microphones and some other cool stuff in the system...
But vendors are currently asking OVER list price for em'...
No way I'll pay mid-500< low-600 $$...
Thankfully, they aren't selling like hotcakes at those prices...
maybe when I can snag 1 around $375...but not until then!

I have to say, I love my XZ-1.  It sounds like the -2 has an even better sensor and has added a grip and an articulating touch screen.  The XZ-1 was selling for $400 and I picked one up on CL for $300 that had a grip and auto lens cap added to it.  For a brief time, Amazon had the XZ-1 for $200.  I have been kicking myself for not grabbing another one (or two at that price).

The two year old XZ-1 is still selling at or near list price ($400) if you can still find it, so I wouldn't expect the price to drop much on the XZ-2 (other than for promotions) any time soon.

I have an XZ-1 too. Utterly love it. Use it whenever I dont have space /weight capacity for bringing my main camera with me.

This guy does one of the best camera blogs I've ever seen...
Very objective, has real opinions and is a very good photographer to boot.
Look at these samples from his XZ-2...(and according to him)mostly unretouched!!!

There are a few places (Sammy's) that have brand new XZ-1's for $269 + free
shipping...might just snag 1 of those for the time being.

That's not that bad. I had a tough time deciding between a G1x and G15. Considerable price difference and performance, but both kind of pricey.

You wont regret it. It's a super little camera.

I have read his blog often and like that it's more focused on "real world" use, vs. technical testing.

The XZ-1 is no slouch.  Here are some images I've made with it:

I've got a bid in on a boxed/lightly used XZ-1 on Ebay...ends on Sunday!
Wish me luck!

I'm amazed how good that 28-112 zoom is at every focal length...
Even wide-open!!!

I'de love to see a 24-120 and a fully articulated screen on the XZ-3...
If and when!
