What would be your recommended best book for an absolute newb at PS retouching?

I can turn it on, but very little beyond that.

I tried PS for Dummies, but found it quite useless.

Thanks in advance.

Try one or all of the following:
Kelbytraining, or Video2Brain to begin with.

Or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GqY_aA08I_A

And as you get more experienced try:
Gry Graness
Kruno's DVD(Krunoslav Stifter)
Natalia Taffarel's DVD

On Youtube there are some great tut's on photoshop and retouching

Thank you both  smile

I should mentioned that I have looked online, Youtube primarily.
The problem with YT is that the cursor is invisible and the icons are tiny.
So..., I dont get much out of YT for PS.
Its great for other stuff, I had a question with my Nikon and wasted probably an hour going thru the manual.
10 seconds on Google led me to a YT vid that solved it.

Try clicking on the EXPAND button bottom right of the vid - this will take it to full screen for you.

????
Depending on what tutorials you looked at, there are a ton of highres vids on YT, even on 1080 which give a good impression of what exactly is going on, including cursor.
You can set a filter in YT to show only short or long vids and with features for example only HD.
Take a look at Calvin's page, Calvin Hollywood on Youtube, he has some great english tut's.
