Post some of your favorites.

I know a lot of you guys like Luis CK:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzbURUrgQao

and Jim Gaffigan:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-i9GXbptog

Anthony Jeselnik is on TV right now.
He's pretty funny. I've never seen him before.
All his jokes have the same kind of shock value set up but still hilarious:

Richard Pryor and George Carlin are the two funniest mofo's that have ever lived. Everyone else is a very distant second.

That dude hasn't been a comedian in like 4 years.

His recent shows have all gotten horrible reviews.  I went to one of them where he didn't really tell any jokes.  It's sad when you are outshined by your opening comics.  It's even worse when you get booed off a stage in a town where you used to live.

Doug Stanhope.  One of if not the edgiest and one of the funniest comedians I've run across.

His version of the Aristocrats joke from that film was one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Others I like:

LIVING:

Patton Oswalt - I nearly died of hyperventilation laughing so hard when I saw him live a couple of years ago.

Brian Regan - great "clean" comedian

DEAD:

George Carlin
Richard Pryor
Richard Jeni

Brutally funny guy. His routines are alone worth the subscription price to XM satellite radio and its uncensored standup channel.

How would you know if he's being funny or not? You can't understand a word he says.

No argument.  All I know of him is his specials on cable, and he's been amazing in them, both funny, and the hardest working man in comedy.  But maybe they're old routines.  And I have read news stories about him recently...apparently he gets in trouble with the law a lot these days.  But then so did Lenny Bruce, Richard Pryor and George Carlin, to name a few.  smile

Seriously...  The old school brutal comics like Rodney Dangerfield, Red Fox, and Don Rickles gotta be in the top 10 list of all time!  You couldn't pay me to sit in the front row with any of those guys in the house!

Great one liner at 22 seconds. Another terrific zinger later. Worthwhile short two minutes. RIP Lonesome George.

His gig as Chauncey Gardener in the sequel to "Being There" kind of vacillated between nightmare and comedy.

YES!!!!  I was going to mention him.  George W Bush is about as funny as any comedian out there!  He can sure duck when shoes are being thrown at him too!  Too bad he was elected to a low paying job ... the great Bob Hope was asked if he would run for President ... being how much Mr Hope was loved, he would have been for sure elected.  However he told Johnny Carson that his wife would kill him if he took such a deep cut in pay, and moved into such a small house.  He was being honest! lol

My favorite comedian is Jerry Lewis.  Then Robin Williams is next and Eddie Murphy and Jim Carey are next.  All great!

I always liked Jack Benny.

I also liked Steven Wright:  "You can't have everything -- where would you put it?"

Lenny Bruce was funny until he wasn't.

I'm a fan of Steve Martin & Woody Allen.

But I can't pick a favorite.

Me three or four and you can bet many others agree, he did host the Oscars after all.

Jim Brewer has his moments, so does Dave Chapelle.  I like the lady from Role Models, she's not a comedian per say.  Martin Short is funny! Is he a comedian?
