...in some form of fashion.

I don't know if its a new trend, but half the photographers I follow on various sites are slowing intruding into their own work.  I've seen it here and there over the years, but at least with the people I keep track of.... there has been a massive shift.

I use the word intruding because the photographer isn't completely in the shot.  Just a hand or even a leg in the shot.  The extreme side of it is a lot of these are with the photographer touching the model.  Squeezing a foot or pulling on their clothes... or more.

Did I miss the memo?

lol its definitely happening, i have been studying alot of different fashion photographers work lately and im seeing this showing up in quite a few places.

A random arm coming into the frame touching or interacting with the model in some way.

When I see this go on I just think, uh there are cheaper ways to get your image out there.
I didn't buy all this gear to haphazardly incorporate myself into a shot.

If you have a nice arm, this could be the big break you have been waiting for.

Alfred Hitchcock did in his films and Stan Lee of Marvel did it as well.

Nothing new about it, GWC's, and Terry Richardson wannabe's have been doing it for years, it is their "trophy shot", proving they got someone cute to pose for them.

Workshop attendees in my area never leave the event before getting this type of shot.

I recall seeing Helmut Newton in these sort of photos, typically in a mirrored location shot. I'm sure there are plenty of earlier examples as well, so it really isn't all that new.

I was thinking more like - ever since he stuck his dick in some chicks ass - then photographed it.

I miss the old Terry!

Yeah I was just thinking I'm sure he's stuck more than just his finger in some girls mouth! He's a freak show.

he reminds me of a shock-jock ...
he has ACCESS ... and that pisses a LOT of photographers off ...
that and he actually gets to do something, where most only fantasize doing it ...

Helmut Newton anyone? Definitely not a new trend.

Ever since there was fashion photography, there have been photographers getting in the shot as well.

Everything that is old is new again.  I did it in 1972, looked amateurism so I never did it again. And other than Helmut Newton most kept the shots to themselves.

Everyone in fashion knows new trends have been done before, when someone means new trend they usually mean to gain popularity again in recent years. Which we know happens in fashion everything comes in and out. No need to get so technical on his statement and to prove your history knowledge. I'd be more interesting in knowing what made it so popular again not what started the trend centuries ago.

I agree, but didn't anyone tell you? This is modelmayhem - where pedants rule supreme.
