Has anyone ever had someone stalk or obsess over them?
Online, real life, whatever!

But I thought you liked me....

Haha...just kidding! tongue But seriously, sorry you have to deal with that.

I've been stalked online before for about 4 months maybe. Good thing is that it's been about 5 months now since I've heard anything - knock on wood!

Yes, he tattooed my name onto his chest. We dated for six months and he got the tattoo almost a year after I broke up with him.

Not yet, but I would eagerly welcome such behavior from Alyson Michalka or Olivia Wilde.

Just putting it out there... You know, in case they read this... wink

Stalker's aren't fun...especially when they live 600 miles away, and show up where you live often.

He got married mid last year to a girl he had only known for a few months. They had a Celtic wedding and he wore a pleather vest. Strangely enough, she seemed quite a lot older than him, which is peculiar because I assumed most of him obsession with me came from weird attachment issues and him wanting a younger, smaller girl that he could control. But good on them! It stopped the love notes from turning up at my door and him calling my mother in the middle of the night.

Indeed. Not my full name, just 'Mary Moo', because that's what my family call me.

By a chick who married a guy I dated at 16 (he was 21)... when I was like 21/22. I'm assuming he told her he dated me to make her jealous, and she was 10 years older than him, very heavy, and obviously a miserable human being.

Boyfriends and exes have gotten weird and broken in and stuff, but I think I intimidate people too much for real crazy stalking. Except for a note I got on the porch of a house I lived in for 6 months, saying they saw what I did when I got home from work every night. Which was quality time with my uh, back massager. Good way to get out of my lease though.

I think a lot of girls who claim stalkers are exaggerating. Kind of like "haters". I do know a model who was really stalked in the truest sense of the word, ended up going to court.

I haven't had any horrible photographer experiences either, but maybe I have a high tolerance. I don't know.

A friend of mine was stalked and kidnapped by an ex. He went to jail. When he got out he murdered a woman who looked very much like my friend. He's back in jail.

Yes hmm the worst one repeatedly tried to break into my house, wait for me outside of places to grab me by my wrist and try to take me somewhere.
For those few months I repeatedly went around with a group of male friends, they saved me from any real harm.

The police didn't help in my case, but UK law against stalking is really flimsy. If you're having this problem then at least try and talk to the police!

Yeah.  The asshole won't leave me alone, constantly violating the protective order I have against him, and he creeps my posts on here.  He'll be going to jail, though, very soon.

15! He was 17. I was in year 10, he was in year 12 (final year of high school). He wanted a more intimate relationship then what I was prepared for, something more appropriate to his age than mine. He was extremely clingy and overly attached, wouldn't let me hang out with my friends, constantly talked about marrying me and kept trying to force our relationship in a more sexual direction. I was over it by six months and broke up with him so he dropped out of high school and dedicated his time to 'winning me back'. He even asked my mum if he could attend my grandfathers funeral just so he could see me. A year later and he gets my name tattooed onto himself and emails me a picture of it. Not sure how he found out my new email address. Then I didn't hear anything from or about him in ages and then one day a friend of mine showed me the wedding pics and explained what happened.

Edit: one of the last messages he sent me was about how he was going to find a girl who looked like me so he could have a daughter to call Mary that he could worship. And he wrote it in a way that was supposed to make me feel jealous, like I was missing out on being treated like a queen. I hope he can't have children.

Wow! Maybe you should turn all that over to the veterinarian. They would most certainly have cause to neuter him! :Big Rusty Scissors SNIP:

OK. Srsly. Keep all the communication from him you can because you never know when he may turn up again and get stupid, like when his marriage doesn't work out because of his obsession with you. At least you can show the police that it's an ongoing and repeated thing with him. That way, they would be more willing to help you.

The worst stalker moment I had was more just a case of bullying but my friends have been stalked and it's just really creepy to hear about. I used to live in a semi-bad neighbourhood and would have awkward run ins with guys but none of them would ever stalk me. I honestly don't know what I would do if a situation escalated like that.

The real problem with stalking is, for some LEOs, to get wrapped up in a case only for the complainant to then change his or (usually) her mind and then start up a relationship AGAIN with the offender. And then the LEO is the 'bad guy.'

And then again cut him or her off.

And so on and so on.

That is why, in NYS at least, the way domestic violance laws work now is that the complainant is The People of NYS, not the victim, and the vicitm may not drop the charges.

Anybody ever reporting someone for harassment or stalking by someone he or she was in a previous realtionship with really needs to be certain to 100% and no 'take-backs' that they never ever want anything to do with that person ever again.

On two different occasions, I've had girls break up with me and comment that they were "freaked out that you didn't freak out".

I was like, "Huh? What does that mean?"

"Well," the girls explained, "usually when I break up with a guy, they go kind of crazy. And you didn't. You were totally calm and mature about it."

"Yeah? So?"

"So, I'm just not used to that. It kind of freaked me out. I kept thinking you were gonna snap any minute."

After reading this thread and seeing the kind of lunatics you ladies go out with, I'm starting to understand what those girls meant...

P.S. I meant what I said earlier - Alyson Michalka or Oliva Wilde, please stalk me. wink

He is still young, and I'm sure that when he falls for someone else, he will forget about you (if he hasn't already)...like most young people do.

it can take some people years to clear someone out of their system, especially if they fell in love with them. to me that's not creepy, it's just part of the human condition. life is all about connections and sometimes it's hard to let one go.

Perhaps, but his obsession with young girls seems to be ongoing. After we broke up he would wait outside my little sisters school so he could talk to her before anyone picked her up. He liked me because I was a little, blonde, blue eyed kid who hadn't really developed as much as other girls my age.

Honestly though, if he's truely happy with his new wife and if they manage to have a happy and healthy relationship then that's wonderful for him. But he negatively impacted a large part of my early teen years and caused much stress and anxiety.

And to whomever said I should keep records of what he did I would always throw out the letters, delete the emails and then change my email address with new passwords. I'd have to buy new phones with different providers and new numbers. I didn't keep anything from what happened between us. I think the only thing I have is a drawing he did of me (and left on my door) after we broke up and the tattoo on his chest. Like I said I was fifteen, his last contact with me was almost two years ago (I turn nineteen soon), and he got married. I think his fascination with me has faded now that I no longer look like such a small child.

Had a girl who I'd only met once before lock me in a room at a get together she was having, confess her undying love to me, and chase me around for a while.

Does that count?

Yes, she mailed me a key to her apartment with an "invitation". More letters followed - one asking for my cc# so she could buy a wedding dress.
