Yep,I was a severe victim of this(my story about flying in a 48 year old people of walmart quality woman from Arkansas after she had her hot as hell 24 Y.O Carrie Underwood lookalike daughter pretend to be her even talking via webcam, and yes,I left this woman at the airport after obviously knew I was duped)

This truly sucks..one reason I will never try online dating ever again

I remember that story of yours :-(
Sorry.

At least you didn't get duped for an entire year in person.

Sick people are really good at playing emotional criminals.
They are sick.
It is not your fault.

As for online dating, not a great thing.

As for the original topic posted, a romance without physically meeting for four years is not only unbelievable, but stupid as Hell.

Getting duped is the worst.

And the crazy train keeps on rolling.  Te'o's non-existent girlfriend contacted him to explain that she faked her death to elude drug dealers...

I really think this is a cover up because he is gay.
Unfortunately having it come out could concieveably kill his NFL career for a multitude of reasons(BS in my opinion),and going to a Christian School as well
with that schools radical alumn

Possible.

My gut feeling like this is that a starting player at Notre Dame would not have an on campus girlfriend ?

Usually on-line never met in real-time girlfriends happen when for whatever reason a guy can not get himself to leave his home.

It seems as if he would have connected with someone at his campus.

Could it be a staged story just to generate hits on a web-page ?

Even after the point at which [a Notre Dame spokesperson says] Te'o suspected the fraud, Te'o still cited the GFs death in a sports interview.

Te'o got a hell of a lot of mileage out of that death.
