I was at a convention this past weekend and noticed a common theme at the bars I went to (which I usually do not frequent very much).  It seemed very obvious to me that the women bartenders and waitresses seemed overly busty, and were not shy in showing an ample amount of cleavage with huge plunging necklines.

My question is, women, have you ever used cleavage like this for any reason?.....like to get better tips?

Men, are you more likely to give a better tip to  a waitress/bartender that has good cleavage?  or are they wasting their time?

Just an unofficial pole I guess. But that seemed to be my thoughts and observations this past weekend.

Hooters restaurants modus operendi is based on exactly that.

Smiles get tips. Smiles with cleavage *might* get bigger tips. Cleavage with attitude gets diddly.

I'm not a waitress or a bartender, but I'm an attention whore.  So...yes, I use it to my advantage.   Castigate me.

I have to admit as a male, yes it ups the attention, tips and customer return.

I tend to frequent places in my town that have friendly busty service employees, especially if they're friends of mine big_smile

... What, there's nothing wrong with that, geez.

I once accidentally showed cleavage when I was fundraising at an amusement park by working one of those rigged game booths. I had stuffed a couple bucks in my bra to buy a soda while in the park (it was super hot out). The staff accused me of stealing money.

That's right. I've used cleavage to my disadvantage.

Actually, I used to go the other way - I'd dress in huge jumpers and roll-neck sweaters to try and hide my cleavage, because I was upset by the CONSTANT comments. Since I was about twelve, I've had men shout obscenities at me in the street about my chest, and it's enough to give a girl a complex tongue

Of course, then I realised that big jumpers and roll necks are a great way to make your boobs look even bigger, so now I dress in v-necks to minimise. I still get comments, but now I just brush it off. I've never actively used my chest to get tips or anything, but I do know I get treated much better by men when I wear a low cut dress or top. Maybe I should start doing it more often tongue

Men tell me I'll miss catcalls. I think I'm allowed to be upset by something sexual that started happening to me before I was a teenager.

when the whole staff is busty and showing cleavage I sometimes ask to see the manager in an angry tone, and then give him a handshake and say thank you

then the managers like you, and then the girls extra like you

plus when you press the start menu to pull up the map, there will always be an extra marker at that bar with the manager's initials

Some men say a lot of things. Since I moved to nottingham, I haven't been screamed at in the street once in a whole year big_smile I don't miss it. The older ladies in my family say it is one of the biggest reliefs in getting old - that and being allowed to go to bed at 8pm pleading old age and get stuck into a really good book! tongue

Other women talk about this phenomenon of men harassing them constantly, and being annoying. I never really got any attention from men until I was in my early 20s, and even then, it wasn't that often - pretty much only if I wore some over-the-top outfit that was *begging* for attention. I can probably count on one hand the number of times I've been whistled at, or yelled at, from cars ... and that was years ago.

I got hit on when I worked in strip clubs, but that was ONLY in the club. When I walked back out into my regular life, it stopped there.

Unrelated to the above observation, but still relevant: now that I'm getting a little older, I wouldn't mind having some additional cleavage, but that shit is EXPENSIVE.

I think it has a lot to do with the area you live in. In some places it is a lot more acceptable than others.

Well, ya, women in the service industry aren't dumb! They know men are apt to get loose w/ their wallets when presented w/ eye-candy, doubly so if alcohol enters the equation.

Don't believe me. Visit any strip joint outside of a military installation on a Fri/Sat night.

Does the moon reflects the light from the sun?

Does day follow night?

Do cats like to hunt mice?

Is water wet?

Does a falling tree in a forest makes a sound when nobody is there to hear it?

Does sex sell?

You are just now noticing that women use their boobs for financial and personal gains?

In other news, rich old men use their money to get sexy young girlfriends.

Actually, there is some symmetry there.

Funny story ... My wife and I were at a sports bar sitting at one of those tables that is higher than usual with tall chairs. I had my arm right on the side of the table and when the waitress came she actually rested her boobs right on my arm. After she left, my wife rhetorically asked "does she really think that will get her a bigger tip?"

I said I'm damn sure it will but I could only speak for myself.
