armpits yes or no
visible in photos - what say you? Jan 17 13 06:23 pm Link No opinion, but guilty as charged lol Jan 17 13 06:25 pm Link Jan 17 13 06:26 pm Link Acanthus Tattoos wrote: Personally, I find images where armpits are the focus to be unappealing. But completely omitting the possibility puts way too much restrictions on posing, especially for nudes. Jan 17 13 06:32 pm Link Acanthus Tattoos wrote: Shaved, Yes. Unshaved, No. Jan 17 13 06:40 pm Link If you're going to, make sure they are cleanly shaven (unless you are one that doesn't shave). Editing armpit stubble isn't fun. Jan 17 13 06:46 pm Link ...if there are no gerbils....sure thing Jan 17 13 07:13 pm Link Yep, when I did a swimsuit modeling shoot. (it's not in my port) Fine as long as you're shaven. It's funny because that photographer mentioned that he had a model who showed up...clearly unshaven...for a swimsuit shoot. Yikes! It messed up the entire shoot. Jan 17 13 07:22 pm Link yeah i have two. they come out sometimes. Jan 17 13 07:36 pm Link Depending on the type of shoot, the model and the composition, it's all good. You choose what the concept calls for; http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8025/7518 … 2228fb.jpg 18+ Jan 17 13 08:12 pm Link Why not? Is the armpit any more shocking than any other part of the body? Just my $0.02 Ciao Stefano www.stefanobrunesci.com Jan 17 13 08:15 pm Link Only if they are cleanly shaven. While hair there is hot in the sack, it does come across weird in photos. Jan 17 13 09:08 pm Link Hmm, I just uploaded 1 NSFW picture where I'm proudly ignoring this unwritten rule. I would say yes why not 18 + => https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/31333254 Jan 17 13 09:38 pm Link yes no maybe depends Jan 17 13 09:49 pm Link vbabe wrote: Yeah. At least in the US, I'd say that's inappropriate. For art nudes, it happens, although it's probably wise to disclose. But for any other standard genre, not suitable. Jan 18 13 03:23 am Link Love pits. On females, must be shaved, on males, must not be. And def. no trace of deodorant. Jan 18 13 05:09 am Link I tend to do it a lot Jan 18 13 05:17 am Link No problem, providing it's not one of those "sniffing my own pit" poses. A personal bugbear! Jan 18 13 05:27 am Link Mmmfire photography wrote: I know, me too. Although I think I have one floating out there that is just a smidge close to the pit sniff. Not close enough to "really" be a pit sniff but, since that is a bugbear of mine too, I thought of it immediately as my head turned I I tried to avert! I don't mind unshaven but am not a fan of stubble. Jan 18 13 05:38 am Link Never had a problem with seeing them. Granted, I don't usually go through people's ports, looking specifically for their armpits, but I'm not going to have them leave their arms down for an entire shoot. Can you imagine all of the great poses we'd be missing out on? It just wouldn't be right. Jan 18 13 07:01 am Link Generally avoid armpits to camera for any commercial work. Some people really dislike them , no reason to turn off potential viewers when you are going for mass appeal. Jan 18 13 07:10 am Link Yes. Jan 18 13 07:11 am Link Awesome Headshots wrote: I can't believe that in 2013 this should even be an option. Seriously, why would any female not shave her arms of legs? I never met one yet. Jan 18 13 09:10 am Link Absolutely not. Armpits are gross and have no place in model photography. Jan 18 13 09:16 am Link a shot that prominently features an armpit aimed directly at the camera is, in my opinion, a bad pose, or a bad composition. Armpits visible in shot as they would be to the eye given a good posture and arm position and an optimal perspective, are of course completely normal just let the grooming be up to par please especially if I'm doing the shooting..... and none of that deodorant that leave a greenish tinge..... when evaluating possible male models, one hairy armpit pose aimed at camera is an automatic disqualification. Jan 18 13 09:22 am Link I just can't get used to them. Jan 18 13 09:43 am Link I say fine to be in an image but not as a focal point. I find it interesting to explore all of the options. That all pretty much shave their legs, however. Jan 18 13 12:02 pm Link I'm ambivalent. I shave sometimes, right now I have armpit hair; depends on jobs. But I'm never ever going to avoid a pose because it may be too armpit-centric, or may be "too exposed", etc etc... If it is, I expect the photographer will make the executive decision that it's too much, ask me to turn one way or the other, adjust the light, etc. You can see my pits in all of these, and it's not about the armpits (to me at least): https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/30365153 18+ https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/31333691 18+ https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/31224376 18+ https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/27608814 18+ Jan 18 13 12:09 pm Link Zap Industries wrote: We all live in our own little microcosms of reality.
