This has been bugging me for a while...It's like the hair care world is homogeneously catered to the weave wearers and heat addicts.... more simply put, people who want to achieve that quintessential straight haired vixen look. Where are the stylists for curly cuties ???

I am a model with naturally curly hair texture, and it is difficult to find hair stylists for my hair type. Everyone is into the pin straight blow dried locks, and I have really curly and fine, but thick and fizzy, hair.  I love my texture, and never ever use chemicals or heat to style my soft, fine hair.

That being said, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND A STYLIST FOR THIS HAIR TYPE. Does anyone know of hairstylists and salons in NYC that cater to styling my hair type? Why is the straight look dominating the hair scene?

Here is a link a pic of me au natural:

Try  Patrick (salon Owner)  at Wellington Hair    http://wellingtonhairspa.com/
or
A. Dickey (salon Owner) at Hair Rules Salon http://www.hairrulessalon.com/billofrights.cfm

I have had friends go to both salons and they have had good experiences. You can ensure they won't use chemicals unless you want them to.

Both in NYC.

Good Luck

It's so sad that some women can not be seen as they are naturally... It's like they're constanly playing dress-up. I've gotten jobs that I thought would be out of my league all because my poof made me memorable, go figure...

Not a hairstylist, but I've always been a fan of natural hair.

Thank you for the tip. What were their hair types/background? Were these stylists expensive? I wish there were more gurus and aficionados like Kimmaytube...

It is easier to conform than to stand out. The hair that graces our heads is beautiful in every way (not to mention fun to put my hands in)

Aww thank you! Secretly everyone has a crush on the curls, but not every woman is confident enough to wear the style.
