This shows off your great form and face. The best pose and composition in your portfolio. The background detracts from you and the lighting is not dramatic enough, but the image shows you off well. Would make a stronger avatar, because it shows your face, hair and figure well. Your current choice is too cliche and doesn't show your abilities well.

https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/31849273
Also one of your stronger shots.

As is this one:
https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/31849271

Worst:
https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/32010860
Poor lighting, composition and pose. Your arms look very awkward in this position. The background does not contribute positively to the image. The photo is just there and doesn't show off your modeling potential.

Close 2nd worst:
https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/31961814
The background, pose, lighting and composition lack finish. Does not show you as a high end model.

Overall you've got a great look with an excellent form and an elegant face. You are missing an exceptional frontal head shot. You seem comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera. What is holding you back is the quality of your photos. Your portfolio would benefit from some really strong impact shots with great makeup and hair, shot by skilled photographers who could show off your assets.

Much success,
Michael

Thanks smile

This has the best composition, lighting and pose in your port and shows your creative potential as a model. It would be far stronger if the background didn't overwhelm the image. A background should be background, not the focus of the image, especially in a model's portfolio. Would still make for a better avatar than your current choice.

As would this photo:
https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/27057953

Worst:
https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/29992447
https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/30162143
https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/29374726

These three images all suffer from poor composition, flat lighting, and bad posing. They are too washed out and don't show you well. Your port would be stronger without them.

Overall you have a good face and excellent form. But your port would be much stronger if you culled your weaker images. Less photos with impact is better than many photos with weak composition and posing. Flat, dull lighting and composition is not professional. Keep seeking out more skilled photographers to build the quality of your portfolio.

Much success,
Michael

Your current avatar, which is artistically and creatively done. However, it does not match the rest of your portfolio.

Worst:
https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/32022781
This is the worst in your port. Good model, but the way it was done it has zero redeeming value. The posing, lighting and composition are that of a snapshot. Nothing professional about it.

Overall I would suggest studying more on the art of photography. You need to develop your composition, lighting and posing skills.

Much success,
Michael

Your current avatar, because of how it is photographically recorded. The rest of your images are by low skilled photographers, which makes it difficult to impossible to judge the quality of your makeup.

If you want to show the quality of your makeup, you need skilled photographers who understand lighting, composition ad posing.

You seem to know what you are doing as a makeup artist, but the photographers are not providing you with photos of a quality that show your work. They are more snapshot quality, not professional.

As a makeup artist building your portfolio, you are probably doing some trade work. When agreeing to do trade, make sure the photographer understands that s/he is shooting some photos for your portfolio too. Otherwise you haven't gained anything from all of your hard work.

Much success,
Michael

Your current avatar is your best photo. It has the best lighting, composition, pose and creative makeup/hair. It shows your modeling potential.

Worst:
https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/31899574
This is shot with too short a lens and is thus distorting your facial features. This should be culled. While it is a good idea to include a good quality headshot, this one doesn't flatter you.

Overall I think you need to decide what direction you want to go in with your modeling. As a professional photographer who hires models, I find this photo of you bleeding in the shower very low end and distracting:
https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/31899682
It would cause me to find someone else.

You have an excellent look and form. But I would suggest striving to work with more skilled photographers who can bring out your beauty.

Much success,

This is a very strong headshot in your portfolio, because it has good lighting and lots of emotion. It would have been even stronger, if they hadn't cropped it so tight. Cropping so tight is not the mark of a skilled photographer. Even so, it would make for a much stronger avatar than your current choice.

Worst:
https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/29811740
This image will get a lot of views, but it is not an attractive shot of you because of the soft focus, poor lighting, and poor composition. I would suggest culling this photo from your portfolio.

Overall you have an exotic look and good form. Your current avatar does not do anything for you. Keep striving to work with more skilled photographers and you could build a striking portfolio. The bottom row takes from the strength of your portfolio and could be dropped.

Much success,
Michael

Your work is all of the same level. You need to study more about lighting, composition and posing. For the most part, your crops are just too tight.

You are working with some very attractive models. Work with your models more on capturing expression and feelings. The model needs to have emotional impact through her facial expression and body posing. She needs to interact with the viewer, not just stare at them blankly.

Much success,
Michael

It's obvious to me that you could be a very good model. You have a very interesting look. But you are being very poorly handled by unskilled photographers. They don't know what to do with you, so your images are all over the place. When there is a figure shot, it should be artfully done, not just cheesy. If you stay with this portfolio, you will stay with low end photographers. Seek out more skilled photographers, not just a photographer with a camera, who says nice things to you.

Like I said, you have an interesting face and the form to succeed.

I wish you much success,

You have a great look and the form to match, but you don't have a portfolio that will bring you work. You need to seek out better photographers who can help you show off your modeling potential.

The composition, lighting and poses in your current port just don't work. When you have a decent pose, you lack a good expression. When you have a decent expression, the photographer failed to do his job with the lighting and composition.

You've got the look and the form, but you are missing the high quality photos that will bring you work as a model. Study the poses and expressions of models that you admire. In my portfolio, look at how the body flows through the entire composition. You need images with impact and you will do well.

Much success,
Michael

This has zero redeeming value. It's a cheesy snapshot and doesn't belong in a model's portfolio.

I will not pick out a best and worst, because they are all at about the same level. You've got a good face and some nice expressions. However, you are working with photographers who don't have the skills to feature your assets.

I would suggest studying more about how you can best pose your body to flatter your form. Practice in the mirror. Also practice on developing your expressions. Once you have those down, seek out more skilled photographers who can bring out your positive features.

This has poor composition and lighting. Takes strongly from your port.

Weak:
https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/30099124
This photo also pulls down your port and I would suggest culling it. It is not as strong as your other images.

Overall in your black and white, you are using bold, classic lighting, which was popular in the U.S. during the 30's-40's and is still very popular in western Europe. It is nice to see you bringing it back. Your images would be stronger if the cropping wasn't so tight. You should study more on negative space. Your models are very good and convey a nice, feminine sensuality.

Much success,
Michael

This would make a great avatar and headshot if it were rotated 90 degrees counter clockwise. The hair and face look beautiful and show off your modeling potential. Very nice lighting and composition. Much stronger than your current avatar choice, which detracts from you as a model.

Worst:
https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/30116272
This image doesn't have good composition or lighting. It detracts from the rest of your portfolio and takes it in a different direction.

Overall your portfolio competes with itself. I would suggest culling a lot of images, leaving your port leaner and stronger.

This image is just there. It lacks good composition, lighting and posing.

Overall you are working with unskilled photographers who do not have sufficient knowledge and artistic ability. Also professionally, it is better not to do a full smile. It changes the facial structure in negative ways.

You obviously have persistence to be out in the snow in such a skimpy fitness outfit. No skilled photographer would take a good model to conditions where she may be injured. Keep seeking to build your portfolio with photographers who have more skills.

Much success,
Michael

Overall you have a good face and figure, which have a lot of potential. Unfortunately you are working with unskilled photographers, who don't know how to show off your assets. If you want to work professionally as a model, you need to seek out more skilled and artistic photographers. You certainly have a look that could succeed, but your current portfolio won't get you paid work. It will just attract the same skill level of photographers with whom you have already been working.

I would also suggest rewriting your profile in the first person, so that you seem approachable.

Either of these two photos would make for a better avatar than your current choice:

Worst:
https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/29287475
https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/29287490
These two are the weakest in your portfolio due to weak composition, posing and lighting. The models are just standing there without interacting with the viewer.

Overall your portfolio shows inconsistencies. Some images are very professionally done with excellent lighting, posing and composition, as if they were shot under the guidance of a very experienced photographer with a very experienced models. Others lack the same artistic refinements.

Also your logo is very large and ornate, taking away from the visual impact of your photos.

Much success,

Best lighting, composition and pose in your portfolio. Very good model with a good expression and nice color range. Overall it's well done. I also like your avatar, but I prefer crops less tight. The hair could be given more prominence compared to the hand and arm.

Worst:
https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/26801375
The lighting is fine, but the pose and composition detracts from the rest of your port. It's just there.

https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/26199981
https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/26196260
On my calibrated monitor, these two images are about a stop under exposed and again the crop is way too tight. I would suggest studying more on negative space.

Overall you have very good models, but you seem to expect them to pose instead of directing them for a strong composition. Only you as the photographer see what is being recorded and can direct the model to achieve the most visually pleasing result. I would also suggest giving your subject more breathing room by making your crops less tight.

Wishing you much success,
Michael
