So, long story short, I'd been essentially put out to pasture by my original agency around the time I hit 23. Which I get: I hit "retirement age" and that's the way the cookie crumbles. I've been more or less freelancing ever since, which has brought in a very modest amount of work (but that's okay, since I have been working full-time).
However, to make an excruciatingly long story short, I'm opting not to renew my teaching contract for my next year. And while I'm trying to figure out wtf to do with my life now that I'm done (at least for now) with teaching, I wanted to get back into the swing of things.
I've tried contacting the models I know who are repped by Maggie Inc and Click about how their agencies operate, but to little or no luck. I'd love to hear any information on the various agencies in the Boston/New England area, and which ones are friendly to seasoned veterans/"old folks" like myself.
(For background: I'm 26, 5'11", and I was a "whatever they need" model at my old agency, but I worked primarily in commercial with the occasional fashion or bridal runway job)

Without needing a direct answer, how sure are you were dropped because of your age & not your availability situation?
The reason why I ask is that I once worked with an agency girl & she was telling me that she got some pretty strange looks when they find out she has a 10-year old kid & start mentally doing the math. Course she justifies it (not that I blame her) that she's not the one lying, its the agency doing that.

Not much in the NE area from what I recall...pretty much NYC for anything worthwhile (money).
At your age, it's done for mainstream fashion/beauty unless you are Dean Johnson. So focusing on Catalogues etc is probably best.
Instead of looking for an agency you may want to try to find an "agent" who specializes in commercial type booking. Again, you really have to have some feature sets that they can't find in younger models.
