TFP means time for photos though it does not necessarily mean print quality photos. Most photographers give photos that are web quality for free and you are required to pay for a print.

When going into TFP it is best to find out what it means for all parties and that all parties will be happy with what they receive and the end outcome.

what qualifies as "the rest"?   If there are specific acronyms that you are curious about, searching the forums can help, or google can also help.

The anacronyms vary
TF (trade or time for photos)
TFP (trade or time for portfolio)
Paid - usually for currency.
PT (part trade, part something else)
They can vary in the industry.

Welcome to MM (Model Mayhem)! I hope you enjoy your stay here. Be sure to post more around here in the forums to get to know every one of us and to work with in the future.

TF is "Time for or Trade For" so if you need some prints then it's TFP, if you need CD that has photographs files copied to so you can download them onto your computer or laptop then it's TFCD. This is where you are willing to work with photographer at no cost but prints or CD in return. When you are looking for photographer, they will want to know if you'd like to have prints or CD or to be paid. Time for prints or Time for CD is the best way so that you can build your portfolio as much as you can to spark a interest in other photographer's eyes to want to pay you for the work.

Thanks every one and especially to Nathine. I've been on Model Mayhem for a while, but when I don't go on in a while I end up forgetting what they mean.

Not quite.
TF is Trade or Time For (whatever you both agree on)
TFP is traditionally Trade For Prints (Not used as much any more)
TFCD is Trade For images on a CD
Paid shooting for money - Typically will not also include images for you to use.

Just make sure you know what your getting before you commit to the shoot. In this industry NEVER assume anything
