Yeah, saw your post,I missed this version of the tour(saw both bands tour in 2011,no growlie vocals last time,as I think Mickael's voice was so shot he took a break from it,and he only does 2 or 3 songs now with the growlie vox)..love Katatonia, and they actually sound in a way like Depeche Mode meets Opeth in a way, very gothic proggy sound)

And Mickael from Opeth needs to think about a 2nd career as a stand up comic, his in between song banter is hysterical

He did quite a bit of growly vocals when I saw them. Probably a little less than half the set. When they came out for an encore, they played that first song from Blackwater Park, which included growly vocals. I might have just gotten lucky, and they were feeling particularly perky that day.

Yeah, it was like the Mickael Archfeldt comedy hour in the Worcester Palladium. I couldn't really hear much of what he was saying though. The sound system was great for music, but not so much for just hearing dudes talking. Plus, I was back away from the stage, up on a platform thing.

I don't like getting inadvertently swept up in mosh pits and people kicking and pushing each other, and crowd surfers, so I went up there. Dillinger Escape Plan was right before Katatonia, and that was a cluster-fuck of flying fists and feet. The view was much better up high anyway.

In July, I'm going to see Amon Amarth, Children of Bodom and Mastodon. I know a lot of people don't care for Mastodon, but I've liked them since I saw them live, back in NC in 2007. Any anyway, Amon Amarth = fuck yes, can't wait!!!
