In short have had my d7000 for nearly 2yrs and other than the odd ' file not readable ' ( or similar wording) not had any problems with it. Until saturday when I did a shoot & took 250 - 300 images with it set to Raw only, when i started editing there were 6 in a row that were not nef but jpeg files, then it went back to nef ! very odd. Anyone else had anything like this, concerned as i bought in june or july and had a 2yr warranty so if there is a fault need to send it off soon!

The ISO button is right next to the QUALITY button. Did you change your ISO during the shoot but accidentally press the QUALITY button below it instead?
I've done that before. But maybe thats just me being stupid.

Does the D7000 have an "auto" setting? I have other cameras that shoot raw but not if in Auto or with a "mode" (portrait, night, etc.) chosen.

That would piss me off.

Eh? Why would that piss you off? I imagine it would be the same on a 300 or 800. Those are jpeg settings. RAW is RAW, when you're using those preset modes the camera is making choices about sat, contrast etc. I had a card problem once with my 7000, no fault of the camera.

My D300 did this 3 or 4 times during the 4 1/2 years that it was my main body with over 100K actuations. Instead of getting an NEF and JPG, I would just get a larger than usual JPG.
