For this epic lollery lol I found my VERY FIRST DIARY EVER today, when going through a box in the garage looking for a blank notebook. I was only 7 and in the first grade, and it really showcases how heinous my literacy was before my first/second grade teacher got me caught up (I entered her class a month late in 1st grade, with my alphabet screwed up from 5 different kindie teachers and completely unable to read-- this diary is after months of her teaching, but before 2nd grade with her, where I jumped up to a sixth grade level in a matter of months).

Translation:I am having a picnic tomorrow, for me, Rebecca. Easter is coming soon and there is a problem-- my cousin is a money stealer. It is summer now and I get to go swimming every day, for the whole entire summer.

Translation: I am a car rider every day. Well okay, maybe only Fridays. Most of the time I am happy because I can play with my friends, Chase, Jenna, Jennifer, Katie, Shelley, Tory, Janie, Jeanie, Allison, Melissa, Jessica R., and Jessica J. Good-bye.

I'm pretty sure I had that same one. It's one badass journal!

I'm actually pretty sure I even remember when I got it--- I remember seeing it in the store and stopping stock still and saying "Mommy!" in a possessed demonic sort of voice. I had to have it!

hahahahaha! Right?? Also notice my method of dating each entry...

(to my knowledge '35 is neither a day nor a month on any modern calendar tongue )

Went and checked and saw I started out 10/2/98 and just kept adding 1 to the middle number for each consecutive entry (all the way up to 11/45/98). lol

I love that! I have a journal from the same age with such similar entries hahaha. Maybe we would have been best friends.

Or maybe all 7 year old journals read like that?

lol Yeah it definitely was a good laugh, it made me want to go back and re-read all the half-hearted journals I wrote in over the years (I would start one, write maybe 5-20 entries, and then promptly forget all about it only to start a new one a year later because I was obsessed with school supplies (I loved mechanical pencils and erasers and bleedy pens and pretty notebooks. Sadly this has not changed!)

I only ever fully completed a journal once, when I was in 7th grade-- so 12-13ish. And I just know it would be so full of melodramatic outrage and despair!
