Hey everyone(: I am an 18 yr. old model, just moved to Kauai. I've been in the business since I was 12. But I'm 5'3 and just started to do a lot of bikini shoots. Any tips on how I can make the illusion of being more elongated?

Welcome. You are lovely. Poses like this will help you "look" taller

But keep in mind that having pics where you may look taller isn't going to get you on the high fashion runways anytime soon.

But you should do good in other area of modeling.

Avoid shots with other models that are taller than you or with objects that would reveal your height.  Your proportions are great as a solo model.

Agreed, you're a stunner I'm sure you'll find no lack of work.

Welcome to the Mayhem.  Talk to the photographer about it before the shoot and see what they have in mind.  Lower angles are a start.  Like this: http://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/33502659

Don't worry about being short.  You have a great look.  I have a fantastic model I have worked with 3 times now who is only 4' 8".  You will be just fine.

Oh, and welcome, BTW!

You look amazing. You should never worry about being too short. You would make a great print model.

thanks everyone! I really appreciate your help/input. I have been in the industry since I was 11- from LA. and moved out to Kauai about 9 months ago. and  I recently got one represented by one of the best modeling agencies and one of the best worldwide talent/model agencies!!
So for any other short models out there reading this, don't let anyone keep you down! And if you do get rejected, just brush it off and move on!

Thanks for putting up this post- I'm in your position and have been wondering the same thing as well. You look very pretty and good luck to you! Stand straight and wear clothes that elongate your legs.

Don't be afraid ! if your being told you can model, and you want to go for it! I recently just got a worldwide agency, and also represent another top modeling agency! Besides, modeling isn't all about runways, or "being tall". you could even editorial prints. The shortest runway model was, 5'3! You just need to know your body and learn how to make yourself look taller wink Plus TF is REALLY nice if you are just starting out, the more work you do with photographers the more knowledge you will gain. After I made this post, things have been looking up! so thanks everyone!!!
