I've had quite a few different opinions on those 2 so I thought I would ask on here.. which one should I keep?

The closer-in shot (#2) is better.

I like the angle and composition of the shot on #2 but the contrast and colors look better on #1. If I had to make a choice to keep just on it would have to be #2

2nd one is better with the expression and pose. The 1st one just doesn't look as comfortable as the 2nd one.

I would have to go with #2.

The expressions in both are on the weak side for me.I'd take 2 if forced to choose.

Looking at the thumbnails, I'm drawn to #1 first. I think it's because there appears to be a little more contrast in the color tones. But when I click on both images and view them at full size, I definitely prefer #2 because it looks a little more natural (ie: more light-handed with the post-processing). Personally I might prefer the highlights to be a bit softer, but we all have our own preferences...that's what makes this art so fun. So I vote for #2. It's a beautiful image. smile
