You gotta sympathize, but you gotta laugh too.

You bet.

People can get seriously hurt falling on runway, and even more so, falling OFF the runway. Not something you should find any humor in.

And it will always be serious.

Better to laugh at one's self.

The next five seconds of the first video is what I would like to see.  Did he help or ignore?

I'm thinking he ignored her.  banghead

I broke my foot right in front of my wife (now ex) and she couldn't stop laughing while I went pale from pain.  Then again...she stubbed her big toe real bad one day, and I couldn't stop laughing no matter how hard I tried.  I'm laughing right now thinking about it. smile

As long as it isn't life threatening...laughing seems to be a normal response.

The girl who landed directly on her knees could have displaced her kneecap. That would suck hardcore.

It's kind of shitty to laugh at people who fall, but it's funny, and we all do it.

Heck, when I fall, I generally end up sitting wherever I land, laughing at myself, because I know someone got a huge kick out of it.

1 If Schadenfreude is wrong, I don't wanna be right.

2 " stoopid model,  can't walk, how hard can it be. ( I kid. I nearly fell on the fucking runway once. )...no wonder reputation is not so awesome.

3 my auntie went to a nude beach once and
she told me about a lady there with extremely saggy breasts. The lady trips and falls of course and smacks herself in the face with her bewbs. She had the good sense to laugh with everyone though.

It's not a misfortune.

They didn't get leukemia or foreclosed their homes. Their puppy didn't get run over either.

They're working and where people work, shit happens. Its a fall. A tall one, granted, but it's not a national tragedy that'd be "sick and wrong " to be giggled at.

Hugs.

Maybe best to wrap up in cotton or just not leave the house anymore in case there's stuff to trip over out there.

Yolo.

So now I need to go flaggelate myself in hopes to repent to the good karma gods  because I've no empathy for some totally random girls on a totally random video that some other asswipe found funny enough to film and put on the webs.
Got it.

#2 is particularly awesome because the talent actually Caught Air.

If I'd been there in person I'd ha be handed her a bag of frozen peas and a Kudos for not breaking her fucking neck in this dangerous job.
No wonder they get paid gazillions. It's danger money.

I personally don't find these things funny. Safety issue aside, on stage is not where I can find humor in someone's misfortune.

I'll laugh at motorcycle or skateboard crash vids (barring serious injury) but that is a totally different arena where falling comes with the territory.

She doesn't seem to have been hurt much.  She climbed right out of the pool and went on to finish the show.  But the guy did totally ignore her.

Walking in 7' heels that you've not had two minutes' worth of practice in on a thing called Catwalk next to a pool...I'd call that pretty much an accident waiting to happen.

Yeah.

Motorcycle crashes are funny ( if I was allowed I'd call certain individuals a certain body part of ill repute for certain comments  but I shall refrain here).  deadhorse

The same folks will likely watch and take delight in shows like Tosh.O in which a man from a piss poor country with horrible cancers on his face was being made fun of.

That's entertainment.

If he helps he's unprofessional.

It is funny...if no one is hurt.  Why some people don't find it funny is that they think she is hurt.  Therefore if she get up and laughs herself in a longer video, it would be a funnier video since we know she wasn't injured.

I have never been the type to laugh at people falling. I'd either ignore it or help them up if they looked hurt.

I see nothing funny about people hurting themselves especially falling into the pool. This is why all people should learn how to fall properly (Martial Art/Stunt Falls can save you from injury/death) to avoid injury.

Ok the 3rd one is kind of funny... Because she is laughing and keeps falling and showing she is ok.

I guess you have to ask yourself if you are the sort of person who laughs at others misfortune

I have attended /photographed over 1000 fashion shows and I will tell you that I have never ( in the real world ) seen anyone in the audience laugh when a model falls ( many times people clap when the model is able to get up - as their is relief that she or he is ok )

As I'm typing this, some lady tripped over her suitcase in the airport. It's big and bright green. How did she miss it? lol
