So I will explain why my trip to Miami was cut so short. I admit, I made rookie mistakes and fell into an obvious trap hoping things would turn out differently. I feel like I fool and was taken advantage of. But that's no excuse for what these guys, Darron Neeley of PosterModelsXXX Poster Models Worldwide Inc. and his buddy Anthony Que (DBoy Casting and Platinum Films) did to me.

About 3 weeks ago, I was put in contact with Darron Neeley through a recruiter. I spoke with Darron Neeley about a shoot he wanted me to perform in for his site. It was a boy girl adult shoot with male talent that he had set up. The full panel test, flight, and model house would be taken care of and all I had to do was show up ready to work. I was also told there would be more shoots available when I arrived to Miami.

Upon my arrival on Monday September 22nd, another man who introduced himself as Q picked me up from the airport and took me to the model house. I was suppose to go on "go-sees" at different studios that same day but Q said I wasn't ready and that he'd take me the next day. Later that evening, Darron called me and said for me to talk to another agent/photographer and have him pick me up and get work booked for me. When I questioned Q about the go sees and test he said to speak with Darron. Darron told me he would talk to Q but never did. As I continued to ask questions, Q became angry and said I was dictating things and calling them liars. I told him I can only go by what I was told by Darron. Now it turned into Darron saying something completely different than what he first told me.

I went back to the man that referred me to Darron, Marshall Sherman, and told him that I'm being told two different things and Q is being very hateful with me. Q found out about this and told me that I was in breach of contract for discussing things with Marshall and he forced me to leave the model house with no where to go and no money to get home.

I tried calling Darron multiple times and he never answered. Once he finally did answer, he told me he didn't want to work with me anymore because I made Q really made. I tried explaining to him that I did nothing wrong, I was just asking questions so I could get clarification on what was going on. Darron said, "Ok, I'll call Q". Q called me and said I didn't need to ask questions, that I was only talent and shouldn't be dictating things (again, I didn't force anything and I was polite up to this point). I asked if I could come back to the model house since I had no where else to go and he told me to go to the LaQuinta and be a hooker if I wanted to go home.

A few hours later I managed to get in touch with Darron again after many failed attempts. He said "I won't leave you stranded" but then said he would call Q to give me money to put me on a bus. Q refused to do it. Darron stopped answering his phone again.

So I borrowed some money, got on a bus and headed home. 30 hours later I'm back in Little Rock where I belong.

I posted this story on twitter and was threatened by Darron and Q for it. I won't stop posting this until something is done about these guys. I'm not the first girl and I won't be the last. But maybe I can slow down their little scam and the next girl will be smarter than I was.

PS
I'm posting this everywhere I know. I won't answer many questions here because I know how you guys can get. I'm not in the mood for hate. If the mods want to close this for any reason then so be it. If you want more details, PM me.

It was a really shitty thing to have happen no matter how you look at it.

Glad you're home safe now.

Danielle,
I saw your post on FB. Because of rules about adult networking, I mighty suggest editing your OP here to take that part out. Sorry you got screwed in this deal. (no pun meant...really)
I don't shoot porn...but imagine I'd do some more research on people up front before a project like this. Chances are if they've done it to you, they've done it to someone else too.

I wouldn't worry about it on this occasion. Given Danielle is posting this information as a heads up for other models, the information re the type of work, is pertinent to the discussion.

As such, IMO it shouldn't fall foul of MM's Adult Networking rules/policies.

Duly noted. Thanks for the rules clarification.
Danielle...always have a backup plan. That helps too. I've seen multiple posts from models over the years who traveled to a location and some scumbag left them high and dry.

It's not a rules clarification as such, just my take on how it's best handled on this occasion. smile

From what I gather, the promised go-sees, tests, and other jobs were a hook to get her there. For what purpose, I'm not sure. I do know these "companies" like to get girls out to them, put them in debt for airfare and housing, and pressure them into doing a lot for very little, so that they can't get home and have to keep shooting whatever comes their way to try to get back.

I know because I was approached by MANY when I was 19 y/o fresh meat just starting nudes. They don't bother with my old ass anymore lol

That's pretty much how the adult industry is. Lots of shady people with no conscious.

I panicked but I was in good hands after all this. When I get back down there I'll send you a message so you'll at least know I'm in town

I'm very sorry you had such a bad experience.  I hope this helps all models be extra careful when booking gigs especially in the adult industry.  I hope it also shows models that they must make sure they have the independent resources to return home if there are problems to keep a bad situation from getting worse.

It takes a lot of courage to admit to being a victim of a scam, thanks. Hopefully, others will read this and not fall for the same con.

This applies to modeling work, photography, or any such talents that might ask one to travel.  No matter what sort of modeling work it is (adult or otherwise) if I were being offered work in a place that requires money to travel, I wont go until I've verified the deposit is in my bank and legit.  Another thing I would do is to only travel if I've got money to get back on.  Things like that do happen all too often!  Thankfully you are safe at home now.

This.

Danielle,
Is it possible you got there, and they were not as impressed with you in person as in your pictures?

This makes me think they're trying to dump you off on someone else, after they flew you out there:

For whatever reason it sounds like they changed their mind about working with you. sad
Glad you made it back safe.

Danielle I'm sorry this happened.   You have friends here who would have helped you.   Before you take advantage of any of these dubious offers ask around.   Look carefully at the websites and work.   I took a look at several of their short promo videos and OUCH.   The girls are hideous and its all very ghetto and sad.   You can do better.   Put up travel notices and find members who may let you stay with them.   Odds are great some of the Miami models would and for certain you could have traded with some of the Miami shooters here.   Always have enough money to get home and keep a working cell phone and tablet or computer with you.

Don't be too embarrassed to reach out to MM is my point.   I'm glad you're safe.

There are 14 different Forum categories here on MM.

Would it be possible to have a Forum titled "Help"?

When someone gets in a situation like Danielle Reid did, and was stranded or left with little money because some shoots failed to happen, you could post in the "Help" forum and describe what happened and what you need.

Other models and photographers could help out in one way or another by offering a place to stay, or coming up with a paid shoot so bus or plane fare could be had.

Ignore the people that are trying to put this on you.  It says a lot about the character of the person making the reply.  Even if the people that brought you to Miami, had a legitimate reason for declining to work with you, they had an obligation to you.   Many obligations.

I suggest contacting the police in Dade County.   Why?  The scum may not have broken any laws with you but this could be part of a pattern that they police are aware of or need to be aware of.  This could be the tip of a human trafficking scheme.  Your report could save someone else's life.  You may also want to contact the Federal authorities.

Am I fear mongering?  So, what if I am?  In this case, it is better to let other people know, than hide behind behind a computer screen and blame the victim, or to forget about it and move on.

Whatever the specifics, the intent is to arrange to get the model hundreds of miles from home and broke, and then take advantage of her. The way I've had this scam described to me in the past is that the "client" has the model turn tricks instead of the agreed modeling or performance. that could be how this actually went down; we don't know because Danielle (wisely, IMO) chose to withhold most details, though she did "name and shame" (again, I think this was a good idea, though it's arguably against MM policy).

This is directed at all people, not just the OP, not just models. Photographers, MUAs, Designers, etc.

Never travel to work with people you have never done business with, unless you have a NON- REFUNDABLE ROUND TRIP TICKET in your hand. Whether you paid for it, or someone else did, never leave your home without a way back. (Refundable tickets can be cancelled for any reason, leaving you stranded.)

I like this idea. If a member of good standing was in my town and stuck with no option, I would be willing to give them shelter. I have formed friendships with some traveling models who know they can stop by, even just take a nap from a long drive, whenever they are in town.

I didn't quote it on purpose.  Perhaps it has been edited.
Or perhaps I miss read it.
But maybe not.  There is one that could be taken that way.

Please forgive me if I am incorrect in my interpretation.

This being the MM forums, it is inconceivable that someone would blame the victim.
