Details at: www.hitthelodge.com Mar 19 15 07:13 pm Link Optional HDSLR Video Production Class - Fashion Video Shooting comes to HTL this Summer as just another part for photographers interested in also learning DSLR video production. On the edge of new technologies and upcoming new media is the emerging field of Fashion Video, combining the aspects of fashion photography, film making, storytelling and marketing. This summer, filmmaker Tim Jackson brings his skills to HTL in a new, exciting four-day track that will get photographers up-to-speed on creating, shooting and producing short fashion videos. This “workshop within a workshop” will introduce photographers and beginning filmmakers to the aspects of film making with their own HDSLR cameras. Topics will include concept creation, camera operation, cinema-style lighting, directing models for video, shooting and simple editing techniques. Participants will be lead through a series of shooting exercises with models and will have the opportunity to assist in a demonstration shoot, which all leads up to creating your own 60-90 second fashion video with a model. Participants will learn through hands-on experience and in regular review sessions as the class progresses. All of the work will culminate in showing your film in a Final Screening on the last day with the rest of the HTL workshop. While all classes will be available to any participant to sit in on, those photographers that can commit to the entire track will benefit the most. Film making is a more complicated process than still photography, but is still within the grasp of any photographer. At the completion of the workshop, you should be able to offer this new service to any model, agency or publication. Day One – Introduction to Concept, Camera & Lighting for Film Day Two – Location Scouting, Wardrobe, Directing & Shooting Day Three – Shooting all day (two 4-hour blocks) and reviewing footage Day Four – Basic Editing and Final Screening Photographers are encouraged to bring their own HDSLR camera (with video capabilities) and portable computers pre-loaded with iMovie, Final Cut X, Premiere Pro or any other basic video editing program. If you have a tripod with a video head, you are encouraged to bring that also. Tim Jackson, a career photographer who turned his image making skills towards film making five years ago.
