I was wondering if anyone can comment on the best programs for special effects training in Toronto, Ontario. Does anyone have any help they can offer in this respect? I trained at Blanche MacDonald in Vancouver, but they had only a cursory SFX course at the time. And its in Vancouver. One of my colleague's son is very keen to enter training but I do not know which of the schools in this city can help.

Are there distance education options? Dick Smith's course, is it still live? Any others I should know about?

Davis, check with Blur Makeup Room, they sometimes offer workshops. One year after IMATS Thomas Suprenant did a couple of workshops there. I was choked I couldn't go as I had to get back to BC.
