New Insta Thread
The previous instagram thread is gigantic so I thought I'd post another one! Let me start by saying that I love instagram, but what I dislike is everyones need for followers. People often follow me only for me to follow them, become interested in their lives and then they unfollow me! It's truly disappointing because I really enjoy like minded people within the creative fields and when people do this it is just disingenuous. So, what am I rambling about exactly? Well, I'd like to make new friends on instagram that are actually interested in what I do and vice versa. So what do I do? I am a freelance MUA, and I have recently moved to SF. A lot of my page is general musings about makeup, fashion, and my new Northern Cali surroundings. I come from the East Coast so this is a bigggg change for me. I didn't know I had anything to say through my pictures. Social media is something I am not use to. It amazes me to see how many people follow others. And that you can buy followers! Why? Is it ego? I agree with the whole popularity thing. I have over 1000 followers but they are all ghost followers, no interaction. I honestly think a lot of them are just following me to see what I'm up to, I barely get any likes or comments. I really want to use my instagram for some social interaction in the community.
