Please give me your opinions on my port so far. I'm a very new model just started the beginning of 2015, I want to know what you think of my pics so far. Thanks ~

Nice art shot in concept.  Good pose.  The expression of the model in the composition of the photo makes the story interesting.  But, the feet of the model are cut off making the shot kind of awkward.  Despite it being a good concept, it does little to show you off.

Very busy.  Black and white reduces the separation between the model and her surroundings.

Like the pose and the shot.  This could be selling something (cologne?) to men very easily.  Might be a little dark, but that is probably a mood thing.  Looks better full screen than as a thumbnail.  A keeper.

Might be the most important picture you have.  Good head shot for profile.  Also shows off your figure.

Strong photo.  This will generate lots of views.  You can expect this to be pirated and showing up all over the world.

Loose the first one, third one, eight, tenth, 12th photos as you build your port.  You can do better head shots, with more emotion or variation, and better composition.  Remember it is about showing off you.  10 and 12th, I am wondering what kind of bush is behind you, not looking at you.  You are just standing in the way of the foliage.

hienvy  Welcome to MM
I saw your newbie thread.  It is good of you to take the chance and post here.  You will get some good feedback to help you along.  My perspective on your shots, may very well differ from everybody else.

Nothing very exciting in your images at this point in time. Your expresssions need work, and you are failing to sell the merch in many of your shots.

I would work on poses (especially hand positioning) and facial expressions.  Nice start and keep shooting!

you've got a good face and figure but you need to check your poses in the mirror.

#1 Very harsh lighting is throwing half of your face into deep shadow. Your hand is oddly placed. Your head tilt is a little too far over. Lovely expression and eye contact.
https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/150728/15/55b80509a8d4e_m.jpg

#2 Strong pose, somewhat severe expression possibly because of the strong light.
https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/150711/11/55a162f90da6f_m.jpg

#3 Shot angle is making your neck disappear. You look vaguely uncomfortable. If you had been turned towards the light, the  light would have been better on your face. It's quite salvageable with a much tighter crop and working with the color balance.

#4 Lovely shot all around - pose, expression, treatment
https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/150612/18/557b810d18ccf_m.jpg

#5 Nice expression, good eye contact. Background over left shoulder too bright and busy. Need more light on your face.to remove nose shadow on cheek and to highlight the sweet expression.

#6 Harsh flash is not flattering your face and camera position and pose are making your neck disappear. Flash makes white lettering pop, competing with your face.

#7 Great pose, like the way the skirt lines emphasize movement.
https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/150612/18/557b81bdb8001_m.jpg

#8 An interesting shot, if underexposed. More light would emphasize your eyes. You have a dramatic face and this captures it.

#9 No. Lighting, expression, pose are making a visual mess doing you no favors.
https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/150517/16/5559244776810_m.jpg

#10 A much tighter crop would be much more dramatic. It's good that you can project so much feeling without overdoing it.

#11 Hard light is emphasizing your nose. The earlobe hole will be disturbing for some. Turning your head 30 degrees toward camera would have been more flattering especially with a reflector opposite light.
https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/150507/17/554c01ea55627_m.jpg

#12 Lovely, serene yet sensual pose. Needs tighter, portrait mode crop.
https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/150430/23/554318384c3e7_m.jpg

#13 Fabulous smile, great pose. Your feet are cut off.. Needs to be brightened and cropped so that you are much more of the picture.

You've got a great face. Practice many expressions so you have a large variety to choose from. Be aware of how light his your face. Practice with one lamp and a mirror. Be aware how head position affects your neck. you want your pictures to show that you have one. Find photographers and do a lot of shoots.
Best of luck.

Model wise an ok pose, suggest less bend at models right wrist, lower models right hip even more [If you can get a big "S" curve in your spine you are rocking your pose, good start of one in this pose]
I understand it is a look, but the baggy shirt is hiding your shape
Hair style is not working for me either
An out of focus background is less distracting, the fix, move away from the plants

https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/150802/17/55beb2bc718c0_m.jpg
If less then 25% of the photo is of the model, it is not showcasing as well as it could.
The look of the pose is very stagnate, remember you are trying to impress the photographers that may hire you, yes I understand it is a look and or a fad.

https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/150801/11/55bd12e01ea0c_m.jpg
You have a nice expression here, would like to see the chin up a bit, [Notice you appear to have no neck due in part to pose] because models upper left arm is against body it is squashed, if elbow is move away a bit will have a thinning effect

https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/150711/11/55a162f90da6f_m.jpg
I think this is one of your stronger images, composition wise you seem quite centered, my preference would be more space in front of your body.

https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/150801/11/55bd14a4e7283_m.jpg
Because the camera is shooting down on you, and your chin appears to be tucked in you have lost appearance of neck again

https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/150801/11/55bd120351b7b_m.jpg
One of your stronger images
Notice how the blurred background is less distracting
Your chin is up so your neck is showing up, want an even longer appearing neck, lower your shoulder that is toward camera

Many of your images are shot from a high angle, this will make you appear shorter and less important.

You have a great look, I wish you well.

(MAIN) Interesting stuff. The only seriously bad one is with you wearing shorts - whatever. The hands should usually always be a profile. Avoid , as much as possible, showing tops of hands. the 90 degree turn at the two wrists is just a big mistake in that image - very big mistake! Keep fingers together generally with just barely enough space between them that viewer can detect it. Generally the fingers should show a graceful and gradual (more elegant looking) curve. Always Avoid 90 degree angles whenever possible-- meaning do not put a 90 degree turn of the hand where the wrist meets the hand and do not put a 90 degree turn at the elbows. Make the turns gradual as it looks more elegant.  Despite a couple 90 degree turns of the arms in the image showing you in that outfit ( the one that is white with what looks kind of like stripes---- the photo is a knockout. I think the overall appearance of a slight "S" stance and the outfit manage to compensate for the sharp angles at the elbows.  So sometimes  you can get away with it- but be careful ! ( Yes I did it with the current profile shot but was concentrating on other things and dealing with a totally inexperienced model is another matter ). On another note- generally avoid the arm looking like it is resting directly on top of the head. This is what is known as the "lazy hand syndrome"! You can obtain about the same effect by finding ways to put it over the head without laying directly on top of it. You can , for example , have the fingers be the only part that is touching the head -- Robert Pear
