Don't post stuff on the internet if you don't want it being shared elsewhere, especially nudes.

I am not going to be so quick to jump on the "There is nothing we can do bandwagon", because if something can be done, it depends on what it is that needs to be done.  I don't know what it is I was looking at.  Some cheesy forum of non members that look at MM and comment?  If you are the copyright holder and the pictures are copies, as opposed to a link, you MAY be able to get your shots off the site.  IB may be able to get the Model Mayhem logo off the site, if it is a registered trademark.  There seems to be a link to another site that might be a rip off dating site.  Maybe someone can do something about use of likeness.

Please consider defining what you are outraged about so that we can have a discussion based on facts, law, and reality instead of general and sweeping statements.  Otherwise, we might as well be discussing world peace or something else that makes an impact.

Apparently, the site you linked has made a good argument for MM members to keep their profiles private.

You should also be aware that MM rules require that a profile have at least four photos to be active.  Help>Model Mayhem site rules>Membership requirements:

Provide 4 Different Photos (or more!)

At least four different photos are required for all accounts. No duplicates, re-crops, or manipulations of the same image. Members are expected to maintain a minimum of four relevant photos at all times.

Interesting first post you have made.

My ole grandpappy was a man before his time.

Heck, ole grandpappy told a young Al Gore, "these here interwebs might jest catch on with folks and become somethin."

He offered lots of words of wisdom, here is one about personal responsibility, "Every tub has to sit on it's own bottom."

Interesting domain ... Soviet Union

It seems that everything associated with anon-IB reroutes to a myriad of porn sites.

Is LindaH2000 a real person with only one photo uploaded and 2 comments in the past few minutes for the past 1.75 years, or is she/he/it poaching/hacking/tapped in here for images, SEO or other traffic?

Does IB in this case have any association to the gremlins of Internet Brands?

Just curious.

LindaH2000, except for your single photo of your previous avatar of May 07, 2015 that was in your opening post, all your other photos appear to have just now been added with today's date and no further information. They all have one view, probably from me looking at them. I guess this means your uploads were moments ago.

If you are worried about people ripping you off with the link you gave us, why did you suddenly fill out your portfolio with photos since launching this thread?

Your behavior makes me even more reluctant to click your link or any of the sub-links after we get to where you sent us.

LindaH2000, with all due respect I'm trying to give you the benefit of my doubts.

I went back to your portfolio and did an image search on all of your photos, so now you have two views per photo.

Every photo search leads nowhere except for your original avatar which got several hits under the names of several different MM models.

Aubrey-Paige
Tara Peacock
ClaudiaLorena
-Marissa-
AshleyLove
Pauline Yee
Nella M.
Your Favorite Designer (retoucher)
Victoria Bella

Even though these are tags you left, all link connections have been flagged by the Google summary as "member since Dec 31, 1969." Model Mayhem did not exist in 1969. I don't know why that date comes up on all of the google search hits for your former avatar photo.

After those links back to MM, the google search on page two drops down to several links in Russian with the same avatar.

Who are you LindaH2000?

Is that you Brian?

I never click links in forums until I see that others (who are forum regulars known to me) have viewed and are discussing the contents of the link.  So far, this thread has not satisfied the skeptic enough to click the OP's link.

Smart policy. I'll let you know if I get sick.

"anon" anything should have been our first tip.

A suspicious looking url was our second.

Click Hamilton, with a portfolio like you have I would just delete it. I changed all my photos after they all showed up on that site. I don't list credits or models on this site,  You should just delete that mess of a portfolio you have, it made me sick looking at it.

who would want to steal you're work? you are safe.

OK, you are not Brian. Brian knows the rules about unsolicited critiques. Unless you just threw a curve ball, you are not an inside IB gremlin.

Thanks for the advice anyway. I already gutted my portfolio a while back.

They are probably doing their due diligence first, before joining or closing this thread.

Oh no!

She/he/it changed her/his/it's account name and deleted the second avatar photo, and now the account is not accessible.

I just checked the source of the link in the OP.  It goes straight to Hillary's email server.  Available under the Freedom of Information Act.

My only meaning is that if we understand what we were being led to do, we might know how to better avoid it next time.

What is the purpose of being led to a website link like that? It looked to me more like a back-end tool for website managers or developers or hackers.

I don't mean what happened to the person doing it. I don't care about her/him/it, except to the extent he revealed himself.

I just want to understand better why people do things like this and what the ramifications might be. It was obviously a ploy of reverse psychology to get us to take a look. I don't understand the benefit to the scammer, or the detriment to us.

Was it as simple as "look-at-me" spamming of a porn hub, with it's concomitant data mining or planting of cookies, etc.? Was it getting past restrictions on collecting images? There were probably traffic multipliers as part of the contact. I don't know what was being harvested.

The template used feels like it might be worthy of a learning moment and something taught in Scamming 101.

Thanks. I'm taking a break and doing other things for the interim that also capture my interest.

Except that I got wrangled into doing a wedding for a friend who worked for me. I'm trying to weed down 2000-something images into a presentable selection with a fun perspective that captures the feelings and stories of her delightful event. Her parents were not present so I got the added honor of walking her down the aisle to give her away to her new husband.

Big sigh. I try my best to avoid weddings. It's a lot of hard work, expectations are too high, and trying to get everyone to hold still for photos together is about like trying to herd a bunch of cats in some meaningful way.

One-on-one, photographer and model, is SOOO much easier.

Due to your post, he deleted his profile and canceled his account.

here's a thread that explains what to do (and what not to do) when you find or suspect stolen images/fake profile
If you see someone with stolen images...
Please don't call them out in the forums.
