Recently there has been an outbreak of salmonella where one person has even died, allegedly coming from  "Limited Edition" cucumbers.http://www.cnn.com/2015/09/04/health/arizona-salmonella-outbreak/
Scary stuff.
Apart from the tragic deaths what got me is,
now there are cucumbers that are LIMITED EDITIONS !!! Really ???!!!
And what's with the "Pole Grown" ? this is straight outta Portlandia !

Btw, do the prices of these "Limited Edition" cukes go up as they get sold out ??? And are they also collectibles ??? I can't even......

I hate hearing about these kinds of storys....there is such a level of trust when we put something in our bodys like food.
its one of those things where you are at your most trusting of strangers.

I hope no one else dies. even standard issue food poisoning is bad enough.  I think I would rather get a broken bone than that food poisoning feeling.

A farmer can do everything right but still end up with a contaminated crop in the field.

Somebody on the radio commented recently that when the heath issues surrounding cilantro imported from a certain area of Mexico were investigated, they found that when the field workers had to poop, they just stopped right in the row where they were harvesting and pooped right there.  They didn't wash their hands and returned right away to harvesting the cilantro.
