I think I have similar hair and I'm growing it out at the moment, can anybody make recommendations on what kind of products to try?

Redken makes a really good men's line.  They  have a molding paste called work hard.  After you blow out your hair with a round brush work the paste into it.  If you're going for this style ask your hairstylist how to maintain it.  If you don't have a stylist you should seek one out especially if you are modeling you need to have a good haircut and style.  R-

Brand: Go 24/7 by Unite
Products: Grooming Cream and Soft Wax

These two products will allow you to achieve a variety of styles and are designed for men. The light, clean scents are super yummy and the packing is fantastic and super sturdy. Two of the top products I end up giving clients who fall in love. And I agree 1000% with Rick about arranging for a styling lesson and super fantastic cut.
