Hey guys, I've searched everywhere online, and tried everything....so now I'm hoping one of you can help me.

I use Perfect Photo Suite 9 to resize images for gallery prints (BTW, it works amazing).  Anyway, when I installed it, it works like a plug-in for both Photoshop and Lightroom, but it also works as a stand alone program.

I am on a Mac.

Now, after an update, whenever I double click a RAW file, it tried to open in Perfect Photo.

I tried all the usual tricks like "right clicking" the image file, "open with" PS, and then checking the box to make that the default program.

No luck.

We process so many images here, it's killing me.

Have any of you had this, and did you fix it?  IF so, how?

Thanks in advance.

It depends on the app and OS X version. Removing the app will not work.

It could be in the app preferences, you may have to dig a little deeper than you're comfortable with, but there could be a "make this a default app." setting

If you're comfortable, you can delete the preference or .plist file. That usually takes care of it.

Another option is to select the file, and hit command-I. And use the info box to change all.

As above or just right click on the file and find "Open with" option. Change accordingly.

Out of curiosity...did you select "Change all"?

Well then, perhaps you need to backtrack through Perfect Photo settings.

do a right-click "get info" on one of the RAW files and look in the "Open with:" section. choose the desired app and then hit "Change All..." maybe that will do the trick.
