Canon Professional Services
Many people haven't had the opportunity to experience Canon and their Professional Services. As a verified Professional/Platinum Member, (I basically showed news publications where I was credited and verified my Canon professional equipment with the serial numbers and a link to a professional website.) I can rent equipment for free, have 30% discount for any repairs and excellent customer service. Trying equipment out for free is pretty nice and that does include all things any professional would use. From my standpoint, I have a 5DSR and submitted a request for a 1DX Mark ii, its a standard free 10 day loan. Giving me enough time to test during several news press conferences and the upcoming Governors Debate that I am the official photojournalist for. Canon received my request for the 1DX Mark ii around 11:45 pm and responded promptly by 10:17 AM requesting where to send the 1DX Mark ii. To rent a 1DX Mark ii, just to see if I want to buy it would cost me $245 dollars for 4 days, I get it from canon directly for 10 days and I don't pay any rental fee. I am not a great artists as some of the photographers here, and you guys have your incredible talents. But I am a full time professional photojournalist with weekly news publications. If you didn't know about this canon benefit, I hope this helps. Sep 27 16 05:33 am Link This is a really great post! I hope others are encouraged to leverage what they have and take advantage as well. Sep 27 16 05:04 pm Link Canon Professional Services is a paid service with annual membership dues at $300 and up. Though Canon states it's for professionals, they don't verify and anyone can and does join. Membership to Nikon Professional Services is by invitation only and costs nothing. http://www.tammybryan.com Sep 28 16 02:11 am Link Actually Canon Professional Services has three levels of membership. Free, $100.00 and $300.00. You do need to prove that you own several pieces of Canon Gear to qualify. I have had the $100.00 level for years and between the discounts and very quick turnaround for repairs and the free loaners, it has been worth the $100.00 bucks. Sep 28 16 03:49 am Link I recently received an email from Canon CPS asking if I would like to request an EOS 5D Mark IV for an evaluation loan. I haven't taken them up on it. The link to gear available to members for free evaluation loans is available at: http://www.cps.usa.canon.com/loans/loan … D=1-SHBND5 Sep 28 16 08:36 am Link Zave Smith Photography wrote: All three levels do require that you earn 51% of your income from photography work, though they don't appear to verify this lately. In order to become a member of this elite service it is nearly always by referral by another NPS member sponsor... Nikon realizes the worth/value of having actual working professionals supported to the nines in their endeavors... I don't use them much but there are several advantages; they loan you equipment you may need for special jobs and don't charge for the loan, they speed up the turn around time on repairs, and for major events they set up an onsite repair station so if something breaks while you're shooting the event they will fix it on the spot and while they are fixing your equipment they give you a loaner so you don't miss out on anything.
