I got a good deal from eBay.  The camera is very good shape, the previously owner only shot less than 214 rolls of film (8 frames per roll).  I tested out it yesterday with two rolls of films, and got it developed.  it seems to work perfectly.

Taking picture is the easy part, making quality scan seems have a steep learning curve.

Nice find! And yes getting good B&W scans can be difficult at best.

Interesting chemical compound - lots of resonance going on in those bonds. smile

Don't know what I was doing, but shot two rolls of HP5 120 outdoor as well as in the studio with strobe. Only eight frame per roll, so have to slow down and make every shot counts.  The days of shoot and pray are gone..... hahaaaaa.  Oh man, we got spoiled.

I am heading to NYC tomorrow, should have a few hours to do some street shooting in the Big Apple.  I will bring a couple rolls of Delta 3200 and HP5 or Arista 400.  One thing i love this 690 is much easy to handle than the RB67.....LOL.

Its kind of meaningless since you've found the camera to be in good condition, but the frame counter resets and doesn't show an accurate "total". Also, the former owner could have been shooting 16 frames per roll back when 220 film was more available. Did you experiment with high synch rates in the studio?

I bought it from an American who lives in Japan.  He had the camera for years and not being used.  The camera just looks brand new from the outside.  Yes, he could have cheated me, but I doubt it. he does not appear to be.  He practically gave the camera to me.  He was just grad that someone will use the camera.

I don't have a need for high speed sync inside the studio.  But I am sure I will enjoy the fully sync shuttle (1/500 sec) when I shooting outdoor.  smile
