Mayhem # 370055
So there was this photographer that was working really hard at improving his work when he woke up one morning and could not see...No, this ia not the beginning of a bad joke...this is what happened to me in March 2013. Now, though still legally blind in my right eye, I am armed with a set kf glasses that allows me to work and a new purpose: Use the rest of 2014 to update my portfolio and get used to being called the blind photographer...it could be worse. So please join me as I rebuild.
This is a second career for me...my first was as a trained theatre director and designer. I have a B.A, M.A. and M.F.A. all in aspects of direction and design. I mention this only because I want my photos to not only have a central "heart" but i want that "heart" to be able to be read by the viewer, implicating the viewer in the intimacy of the shot.
I focus on the male form and allow the combination of muscles, hair, and the strong forms of the male body guide my work and open me for inspiration. I see the male body as a piece of the puzzle and the shots typically thrive and become something altogether different once the model is involved.
I have always worked with the male form because of my own identity/body awareness. my ultimate goal is to be able to find that element within any shot that exposes the beauty of that model while also wraps the model in self confidence. While I tend t work with traditional models, I am more than willing and eager to work with non-traditional models as well. If you want to experiment in front of a camera for a few hours, let's see what we can create.
Also, nudity is not required. I find that nudity is freeing but only if the model is comfortable. So, unless i am casting for a specific "Nude" shoot, we will find a look that works for both my needs and yours as well.
I have shot everything from promotional style clothed shots, physique shots, artistic nudes to fetish and more hard core, non pornographic photography.
Always willing to help you build your portfolio. Got ideas...hit me up.
