First off some of you may know me and my work under ‘Tarnishedrose’, I’ve decided to start using my full name for my work although I will keep certain galleries active with this other name. My real name is Liz Van Bokhoven; I’m Dutch but live in the UK and can speak the language fluently.
I never know what to say about myself in these types of things, I am a keen photographer and have been studying it for years and had an interest in the subject for much longer...I’ve always been an arty person and have won awards for it in school and college... I’m always looking to improve and hope to work with many different people; my current main camera is the Canon EOS 5D which I’m VERY happy with; I also use the Canon EOS 350D. I’m currently studying at Farnham University College for the Creative arts (I think that’s the full name :S) for a BA honours in Photography. I am inspired by many different things but I have to say my favourite photographer is David Lachapelle, I also enjoy Cindy Sherman’s, Annie Leibovitz and many others work.
At the moment I am really into Beauty photography, simple but also with a twist. I love colours and bold statements and my work is always evolving; I love to try new ideas and new styles and am not limited to one certain thing. I currently do a lot of self portraiture work but have branched out into using other people too. I especially love using face-paint and make- up to brighten an image up.
